"I was considering which country to run to" - President Buhari Jokes - BellaNaijaPresident Muhammadu Buhari, while speaking to the National Council of Traditional Rulers joked that he was considering running away from the country.

The president was speaking on the projection of famine in the country. He said the rainy season had been good these past two years, but if they hadn’t, he was considering running. He said:

We are lucky, last year and this year, the rainy season was good. If it were not good, I’m confiding in you, I was considering which country to run to. But God answered the prayers of most Nigerians.

The rainy season last year was good, this year, from the reports I’m getting, it is good. We thank God for that, only God can do that for us otherwise there would have been lot of problems in this country.

President Buhari also blamed the “mismanagement of national resources” for the economic downturn experienced in the country.

He said the government is working tirelessly, implementing programmes and projects, “to better the lives of Nigerians in all spheres of life.”

Tell me about it, he thinks he’s being confident and youthful. He’s so insensitive and out of touch. His jokes are wack and boring. Evil old man, Nigerians do you see your representative? He’s a reflection of Nigerians as a whole.
If this is all you can offer, then time to reflect because the country is shambles but folks are in denial.

@Seriously, take a chill pill. in all honesty you deserve to have your paragraph sharved right back into your mouth. Give the man the credit he deserves, has he not rendered Boko Haram harpless ?! has he not contained the northern politics and moved them from their islamic fanatisism ?! So what if his jokes are out of touch, atleast their isn’t a bunch of Fatima’s walking around thinking their shit dont stink….

sure the country is in economic stagnation but so is the rest of the world. and if u ask me this northern leader is handling it brilliantly and contrary to any stereo types, look at the solution the igbos are offering during these hard times ???!

Christopher, which “rest of the world” is in economic stagnation?! Please stop telling blatant lies all in the name of defending a mediocre failure of a president.

As for Buhari, Nigerians deserve the leaders they get. Eod.

That should not be a joke. He should run away so that people who have gutzo can start solving this Lion Squad type problems that are emerging here and there. Military action is not the solution. Why can’t Nigerians have dialog and appreciate each other’s needs, and then try a bit to meet those needs?

Lemme ask – has someone taken a socioeconomic poll about interest in a divided country? i..e,, ask people of their interest in one Nigeria or divided Nigeria and then ask them how much they make a month and see if you will not uncover the socioeconomic underpinnings of the chaos erupting in all corners of the country. I hate when a country boasts intelligent people but no one applies intellect to VERY SIMPLE SOCIAL CHALLENGES.
