The Adamawa Police Command says the death toll in Tuesday’s Mubi mosque suicide attack has risen to 50.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Othman Abubakar, confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday.

Abubakar said that a young boy was responsible for the blast which occurred during the early morning prayer.

“We have 50 dead and we are now trying to get the exact number of those injured,” Abubakar said.

NAN reports that the attack happened in Dazala area of Mubi town in Adamawa on Tuesday around 5 a.m. when Muslims were observing the early morning prayer.

The incident was the first in three years since the liberation of Mubi town from Boko Haram insurgents in 2014.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in May 1976 to gather and distribute news on Nigeria and cover events of interest to Nigeria at the international level for the benefit of the Nigerian Media and the Public.

its like people are yet to understand that what is going on in the north is a civil war, essentially Boko Haram has been fighting to have their own country/caliphate where they would be ruled and further establish sharia……..am I missing something?

It is sad that even the charity contributions to the displaced people are being looted by the officials. The army ‘mistakenly’ dropped a bomb on an IDP camp and killed people earlier in the year and there was no outcry. This country tire me sha….. the amount of blood spilled is alarming and yet we pray for prosperity. sigh.

There is something very wrong with an ideology that promotes bloodshed and again more bloodshed. It’s just sickening.

It is even more sickening to know that everything is usually under-reported in this country, our journalism is wack. So when you hear 50 dead, just know it is like double or triple of that number. And many more injured, plus the ones that don’t even make the news.

Outcry ke.. Of course nobody cares..its the poor and unknown that are dying abi. If the Government who can help them does not care, is it the ordinary hustling and hungry citizens that will care? Nigeria is in trouble.

It’s only a bigot in denial that believes any religion promotes murder. It’s a no brained that this is all politics and power. Those who want to keep believing it should a religious ideology are just being used by the devil to deflect from the real issue at hand. He is using people who think this way to cause division and hatred instead of ALL of us uniting against their evil ways.

If it’s really about religion why kill fellow Muslims??? Is raping also a religious ideology??? People have been corrupting religion since the beginning of time.

It’s so sad that these power hungry blood thirsty deviants are still at it. My prayer is that they fail and that the Nigerian, Chadian and Cameroonian army overcome their madness for good. May god rest the souls of the victims.
