These freeze tithing ‘controversy’ is one of the most ridiculous controversies. It just says a lot that we are more like people who follow than lead. Even the president probably follows his advisers leadership or copy a foreign country’s. It is because we do not encourage freedom of speech, independent spirit and research, sadly BN is one of those.

Easy, prosperity preaching is a recent phenomenon, it is actually not standard Christian preaching(more Catholics/methodists, Orthodox!) Now there is something called Jesus, Peter and Paul(pauline) teachings. Alot of christian messages in the bible are attributed to paul, peter and Jesus. The overlying message is be a good person, help others, stand your ground/belief and spirituality. The pauliine message in the New testament was more about spirituality and spiritual growth, little to do with material growth, some can even say Paul (individual whose works dominate the new testament) disliked material accumulation. The major message was your riches are in heaven. Now because the bible can be conflicting(agreed by most theology scholars), people have taken part of the Jewish bible to preach prosperity. I can’t say there is nothing wrong in that but if someone opposes prosperity gospel(tithing as seed for material growth and not spiritual growth), it should not be controversial or demoting the person because he raised a valid Christian idea not a worldly idea but a valid Christian idea. We are relatively new to Christianity and do not have the 1000 years of Christian DNA and so have jumped on the prosperity wagon. For example few people know the orthodox church has strong Christian roots, the bible writers were Jewish greeks and the orthodox church seems to be following a lot of the early Christian tradition. The truth is the Bible can be conflicting as a whole(jewish bible to Christian message) so there are bounds to be disagreement, Let people disagree and let us educate ourselves without demoting someone’s spirituality because Adeboye says so.

Is he sure though? God might be All Sufficient but the Bible is littered with many circumstances where God requested offerings and at some point, He even said if you do not pay your tithe, you are robbing Him.
Let us try not to analyse God using physical and human logic metrics. Everybody, get a Bible (it’s free now) and read it BY YOURSELF and trust God for understanding..
There are false prophets everywhere- both within the Church and outside. Stop letting other people read and interpret the Bible for you. Neither Freeze not the money-grabbing “prophets” who are losing their minds over tithes and offerings are whom you should be basing your salvation and Christianity on. The God of the New Testament is available to EVERYONE, not just a select few. So seek Him for yourself…while He may still be found.
He who has ears (and eyes) ,let him hear and read.

God needs our money. The church needs our money to take the gospel of our lord Jesus Christ to the nations of the earth. How is the church going to be run if we don’t give our tithes and offerings? This is also voluntary, if you don’t want to give, nobody will hold a gun to your head.

Freeze you are beginning to sound like a mentally sick man. Have a grip on yourself. Think of other things you can focus on for this cheap popularity. This isn’t working anymore.. Thank you.

I think the thing to do regarding this issue is for people to ask themselves the question :
Does paying tiithes make me a better person?
Does it make me walk as christ did
Does it make me do onto others as i would expect to be done by
Does it make me love my neigbour as myself
If you can say paying makes you a better person then by all means keep paying.
However if you are paying tithes to reap the reward of give me i give to you then why not just invest that money humm, and ask God to bless it.
It is best when people are transparent with their motives. God sees the heart xx
