Professor Yemi Osinbajo – Vice President of Nigeria

Vice-president, Yemi Osinbajo has said the ruling party would have performed better if not for corruption, Punch reports.

The VP spoke on Monday during a visit to the Oloja of Epe, Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun, as part of electioneering campaign.

Osinbajo said corruption has prevented Nigerians from enjoying full dividends of democracy.

He added further that the APC-led present administration would invest $500m in job creation if reelected.

“At the next level government, we want to establish Entrepreneur Bank and Peoples Money Bank to complement the Bank of Industry. Already, we are in partnership with the Africa Development Bank to invest $500m in creating jobs.

“All these things ought to have been done before now, but corruption has prevented us from enjoying these things. We are at a point that we need to tell ourselves the truth because the country ought to have moved far ahead of where we are. If the leaders are corrupt, there is nothing that can move. It is not as if there is no idea to move this country forward. As a matter of fact, there are several ideas but corruption has refused to allow these ideas to come into fruition.”

“Osinbajo: Corruption is holding Nigeria Back” YOU THINK!!! “He added further that the APC-led present administration would invest $500m in job creation if reelected.” WOW!!!! REALLY!!!! SERIOUSLY!!! Why didn’t you and your administration do it since you were elected??? Were you not part of the CORRUPT administration “PASTOR” Osibanjo??? This is what I do not like about WOLVES IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING, parading themselves as Christians. Were you not part of the administration, that you now claim is corrupt? What did you do as a “Christian” to stand out and firm to your belief as a child of the Most High? You basically, LIED to protect your master Buhari. Your party APC, and all the kahunas, that you all were sharing Nigerian wealth together.
I believe Nigerians and the youths especially, are sick and tired of you all lying tongues while in office. And if it takes them voting you all out of office after first term in office to get it right, then that’s what the youths should be doing. This is RIDICULOUS. I am so thankful for the way Pastor Oyedepo, spoke up against this administration of you (Osibanjo) and Buhari. Unlike your “father” Adeboye, that failed to speak out and call you and your administration to order. I FORGOT. HE DOESN’T WANT TO LOSE THE TITHE AND SHARE OF THE LOOT. Nigerians, please don’t listen to this vomit of INVESTING $500 MILLION IN JOB CREATION, IF REELECTED. If reelected, they will invest the money in their pockets, knowing that you all cannot do anything to them, as they are in their 2nd and final term in office. They will use the money and better their and their families’ lives. VOTE WISELY!!!!! This is the time to send a clear message Nigerians.

BELLANAIJA, I KNOW I HAVE MENTIONED THE NAMES OF THOSE THAT YOU DON’T LIKE BEING MENTIONED IN ANY WRITE-UP HERE. SO, GO AHEAD AND NOT PUBLISH MY POST. I am fine with it. THAT IS WHY PEOPLE ARE NO LONGER INTERESTED IN THIS SITE. Toddles!!!!!

Your rage is justified. But I respectfully submit that your position lacks objectivity. “Corruption is holding Nigeria back” in no way equates to “this administration’s corrupt practices is holding Nigeria back,” or “corruption just started to hold Nigeria back.”

Could more have been done? Certainly feels like it. Is this administration really different from any Nigeria has had or asking to come back to deliver the Better Nigeria they couldn’t deliver for the masses in with the platforms they have had as regards the fight against corruption? Certainly does not feel like it to the 100s of millions of Nigerians home and away paying the consequences of corruption. But I think it is dishonest to imply that the VP is corrupt or lied to Nigerians, or twist his words.

      @Fellow passerbys
I hope folks will go out to vote for whomever they truly believe (devoid of ethnic or religious sentiments) will have ideas, will have the will and humility to listen to and engage the people, is wise enough to surround her/himself with like minded individuals, irrespective of their ethnicity or religion, who have the competence in areas where he/she fails, who, all things normal and equal, seems fit and alert enough to lead this very complex and deeply divided nation towards unity and comfort for all over the next four years, and who they believe will leave working structures in place. There are options, even if you are told that your vote will be wasted. Let your vote speak for you.

      Wishful thinking?

It’s interesting how all those who come together to ruin Nigeria see beyond their different ethnicities when it is time to secure their place at the pilfering table, but those who are fed crumbs or nothing see the same differences as reasons to pick and choose where, of these pilferers of their destinies, to pitch their tents.

Is corruption a person? From this speech by the VP he does address corruption as if it is a person. Then this government promised to fight corruption, provide security and better the economy. They have tried but still have failed. Is corruption a person?

  3. Seriously

Corruption is an excuse to continue the incompetency prominent in Nigerian government. It’s an excuse to continue to settle for dysfunctionality and stagnancy.
There are no effective long term action taken to hold people accountable. Corruption will always exist, the difference is how to respond and handle it. Where is the rule of law? Checks and balance? Forget corruption and work on the deterioriating state the country is. Corruption should not stop you from doing your part in developing the country.

How long will APC cry about corruption yet they take no tangible action to make a difference except point fingers at the previous administration.
Osinbajo is part of the problem. He’s an enabler. He’s a liar and deceit. We all know Buhari is a lost cause, and he declared that Abacha wasn’t corrupt. It shows you how clueless and heartless the man is. They are all born of the same feathersz
They can all get lost, and could care less.
