Senator Physically Assaults Woman at Abuja Adult Toy Shop | WATCH

Senator representing Adamawa North district Elisha Ishaku Abbo has been caught on camera, physically assaulting a woman at an adult toy shop in Abuja, Premium Times is reporting.

In a CCTV footage released by Premium Times, Abbo rained slaps on the woman who told him to “take it easy” as he had accused the shop owner of insulting him. He said the shop owner called him a drunk.

A police officer was also at the scene but did nothing to stop Abbo. After assaulting her, Abbo told the officer and the other men with him to take the woman away.

The incident was said to have taken place on May 11, 2019, when Abbo was senator-elect, and a month before his inauguration.

The woman reported the case at the Maitama Area Command Headquarters on May 14th, but the police told the victim to go look for Abbo’s telephone number or they would not be able to do anything about it, Premium Times said.

The woman who was assaulted and the attendant have declined comment, saying they are scared of violent backlash from the senator. The woman’s lawyer has also declined comment.

Premium Times gathered information from sources familiar with the story who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

They said Abbo arrived at the shop at 6pm on May 11 with 3 women to purchase adult toys and shortly after, one of the women began throwing up in the shop.

When the attendant raised concern over the incident, Abbo was said to have gotten angry and accused the shop owner of poisoning the store’s air conditioner.

As they altercation continued, Abbo began making some calls, asking some people how close they were.

Shortly after, an armed police officer walked in and Abbo, speaking Hausa, told the man that the woman had insulted him and that he had called the assistant inspector-general (AIG) over the matter, who then assured him that he would call the police commissioner to call the Maitama Area Command.

Abbo then asked the officer to take the shop owner away. The shop owner proceeded to call her father and Abbo then told her to end the call. The shop owner refused and another man came from behind to snatch the woman’s phone.

Later on, the shop owner’s friend, who was standing nearby, told Abbo to “take it easy”. That was when the senator proceed to hit her on the face and body repeatedly

The victim is said to be a nursing mother. She was taken to the hospital after the incident and was treated for eye inflammation and other injuries she sustained during the attack.

When contacted, the FCT Police Commissioner, Bala Ciroma said he is yet to receive information on the matter, adding that he’ll like to receive the victim at his office urgently to seek a resolution to the matter.

Please, don’t trivialize the pastor’s alleged offense. Most Nigerians believe their politicians to be touts and criminals so while this video is horrible, it is not really surprising. Unless you’re saying Nigerian pastors are also touts and criminals like Nigerian politicians.

@OgeAdiro, Trivialize? Nope! Nevertheless, rape and assault are both criminal acts. Both perpetrators need to be held accountable. We clamored for younger minds like this dude in the hope for change. We cannot and should not accept either the Pas. of the moment or said Senator. The point I was trying to make with my original comment is that the outcry on this should be just as loud as the outcry for the Dakolo’s. It should not be only celebrity victims we stand up for.

Abuse of power, he has disappointed the the youth. I think it’s sometimes better having the old people as our leader than the young ones because they always abuse power. Claim to be vibrant but full of devilish act. They re men of no mercy.
    too bad.
