Most know Alexander Amosu as the young Nigerian entrepreneur who made millions by pioneering hip-hop mobile ringtones in the UK. Others know him as the firm but fair judge on Dragon’s Den Nigeria. You might also have spotted his luxurious line of diamond studded mobile phones. Some weeks ago, Mr. Amosu launched his eponymous bespoke luxury suit line – AMOSU in Lagos, Nigeria.
The event also included the unveiling of the £70,000 world’s most expensive suit. The suit which has already been sold to an anonymous UK buyer “is a one-off creation made from the finest fabrics in the world and has taken in excess of 80 hours to complete with over 5,000 individual stitches equating to £14 per stitch. It has taken more than 80 hours and 5,000 individual stitches to make it – equivalent to £14 per stitch. The materials used include vicuña, a rare wild South American animal related to the camel which only produces enough wool for shearing every three years. Another is qiviuk, the world’s most expensive wool, gathered from the Arctic muskox. When blended with pashmina from the high mountain plateaus of the Himalayas they create Vanquish II, one of the world’s most luxurious cloths. The addition of nine 18-carat gold and pave set diamond buttons completes the suit”.
The event was an exciting one with a fashion show and charity auction (which raised money for Jos & Haiti) led by Alexander Amosu himself. The event was planned by No Surprises Event Architects.

Sometimes people tag the one in the photo who is most popular…it doesn’t really mean anything! and u stand corrected as Victor Okigbo is the guy with the locks FACING the camera.

In my opinion, the “world’s most expensive suit” looks as ugly as hell. And all the “luxury” elements strike me as rather redundant. Pashmina from the Himalayas, as in seriously?? What happened to good old wool, silk and cashmere. As for the model actually wearing the suit…!
This whole Amosu thing is just the ticket for the vacuous tasteless lagos crowd, who believe something to be superior by virtue of its being expensive. in a recent interview on elan, he said that he was trying to empower and inspire Nigerians by bringing his brand here. Well here’s a way you can help; produce them in Nigeria and create some jobs. We produce nothing as it is, and consume waaaay too much.

Saheed Sulaiman; purple socks and brown shoes? Seriously? Not a good look.
I don’t understand why that suit is “the worlds most expensive suit”, is it triple breasted?
Your site is really taking forever to load….
