Now Playing: Evaezi – The Break Up Song

With Valentine’s day still on its way out of our minds, Evaezi slowly creeps her way back in. “The Break Up Song” is one of the seven tracks off her recently released “Whispers – Love & Other Things EP”; which is the first of her “Whispers” series that will run throughout the year touching on unpopular and socially silent topics.

“The Break Up Song” is not your typical song reflecting heartaches and tears from a harsh relationship. On the contrary, it’s a song that calls for female empowerment and confidence in the lines of Jazmine Sullivan‘s “Bust Your Windows” with a little comic relief here and there. Enjoy!

Actually surprised I liked the song. Thought I was clicking in to hear Goldie sound alike. Figured I’d hear about 20 seconds and exit the page. Not sure if people in Naij can vibe to this, but not bad.

    • konnie February 22, 2012 at 6:47 PM

In like the song. Really nice. I don’t quite get the Ebonics going in the opening speech. Naija speak would have been much better. Just my opinion
Ghetto talk is never attractive anywhere.

Ghetto sells. Ask the hip-hop and rap music industries. From Ajegunle to Brooklyn, the ghetto lingo has garnered global appeal.

      nonsense!
the picture say it all. i mean i agree with being confident in you body whether you are big or small. but why can you choose….you wanna be a singer or playboy crew?
well sa i no blame her. the song is about “break up” and the only way is to open door for the “back up” plan. lol

    • Soji Ogunnaike February 23, 2012 at 9:42 AM

Is it me or is her nipple about to pop out?

    • Soji Ogunnaike February 23, 2012 at 9:47 AM

The song actually has some strong lyrics. Now all she needs is a great video, something in the line of R.Kelly’s “Trapped in the closet.”

    • adenike February 23, 2012 at 12:38 PM

Kindly contact Clarence Peters for a good video. He’s the only one who can do justice to the video of this song. Once again,I love the song.

Evaezi please get a PR and stylist to help your brand. You have a great voice and you always put out quality music but remember it’s also a business.

A very dramatic song and storytelling – something I would love to see perform on a drama stage. I will look forward to a video.

I wish you didn’t use the American accent though.
