Super Mum, Wife & Actress! Omoni Oboli is ‘Balancing The Act’ in the new issue of Vanguard Allure
Posted on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012 at 6:15 PMBy Adeola Adeyemo
Nollywood actress, Omoni Oboli lights up the cover of the new issue of Vanguard Allure in a stunning strapless yellow dress accentuated with bold crystal jewels. In her interview, she speaks about the success of her marriage, raising three kids and her acting career.
Here are some excerpts from the interview:
When asked how she has been able to keep her home intact in spite of the challenges of work -
“It’s been good. It’s been 12 years of fun with so much joy and peace. My home is very peaceful. I’m a peaceful person. Even when you come around us, you’d see that there is a lot of love and a lot of peace.”
When asked how she balances work and home-
“Well, I realize that I have to be a mum; I have to be a wife and work. I have tried to blend it all so that no part of my life suffers. So I don’t work back to back. I create time for the important things in life which is my family. I don’t do every job so that I can’t spend time with my family.”
When asked why she is seen at a lot of events in company of her husband –
“He is my best friend and usually when you are going for an event, you always want to go with your friend so that you’d have someone to talk and laugh with. It turns out that that best friend is my husband. If I’m going for an event and I want an event buddy, he is my event buddy.”
Advice for young actresses –
“When you put God first in everything, it’s easier for you to see the bigger picture instead of just looking at the moment. The moment might not be good but if you can see the bigger picture, then you know it can always get better.”

Okay! How does marriage make her stand out?…I feel sorry for ppl that their relationships define who they are…
Bebe Gal e be like say u no no say e get a big diffrenece between marriage/family and realtionship.Any sensible woman would put her family before her work OPARI!!

Omoni looks very lovely! Love her
What’s with the last outfit? It’s terrible!
And she has a Nanny, House help, Gate Man driver… etc… which one be balancing? If she didn’t have all that help then I would be impressed.
All these actors and actresses bot Naija and America wen dey claim to “Juggle” it all make me laugh!.
Come and juggle it when you have to go to work everyday not driven but you drive yourself, oh and don’t forget you have to drop off the kids at school or day care, then after work pick up the kids come home cook dinner, clean up prepare for the next day all by yourself!….
When she does that then I know she’s juggling….Abi na Balancing

Hum what’s up with her second hand in the last picture?
She is an Absolutely Gorgeous Lady with very handsome kids and Zero talent (none) when it comes to acting.
She look nice, but her eyebrow shape get comma!

having lived n d US for a while, i can relate to her plastic smile…
lolsss….Africanchild….. U ar so observant! U know i didn’t notice it until i saw ur comment
That smile is really plastic, the photographer should have tired several other shots don’t want to believe that is the best she could give
I think she is a great actress but this smile looks forced.

Having met her albeit briefly, she seems nice, quiet and unassuming. I think she is a classy lady, I love her scandal free life. She understands that she doesn’t need to get caught up in the drama that can come with working in the entertainment industry (take note Stella Damasus, Mercy Johnson, Ini Edo, Stephanie Okereke). She gets that it is God first, family second then work and if you change the order, you are in for a load of trouble. I love that she doesn’t just take any script offered, she is a mother, wife then and actress which is why 12 years later, she is rising in her career while still maintaining the sanctity of her home. God bless her.
With reference to the magazine cover, I think they could have chosen a better cover shot because her smile is very forced, it isn’t natural. The bow thing on the yellow dress is very distracting to me personally, I love the dress and shoes in the last picture but the pose with her one hand lost is not good. She is a better actress than some of these other ones that shall remain nameless, I wish her continued success.
aside the glamour, her marriage is intact. kudos to her. and the forced smile is not her fault, the photographer should hv spotted this.
Her smile scares me…but she cool sha.
Omoni is gorgeous and she seems like a very grounded and well rounded individual x

Bellanaija, you didn’t post my comment because I said she was classy? Or was it because I said I like her shoe? OR that I wasn’t fun of the yellow dress? Or might it be because I said I love that Omoni is not caught up in Nollywood drama like the other ladies whose name I mentioned…oh, I SEEEEEEE it’s because I mentioned other Nollywood stars that could learn from Omoni Oboli that’s why you chose to not post my comment…okay, o make una no vex eh. You have no rhyme or reason to what you cut and what you allow. I did not insult her at all in my comment yet you post the ones people are calling her out on her eyes not being real and her smile being fake. Y’all are hilarious. Don’t post this one either.

I hadn’t seen it. I do apologize for jumping to conclusion. I wish you continued success:)
Err..her acting skills 4.5/10
super mum and super diva
All of you saying her acting skills are not great, you ovbiously haven’t seen her movies or you are fellow actresses with beef! I haven’t seen a better actress in naija. Quote me! Her movie anchor baby was brilliant and her acting was the most natural I have seen of any naija actress. She completely became the woman in the story and I must confess, I cried with her and laughed with her while watching and I wasn’t surprised when I read of the international awards she got for the role. If you read this Omoni, I want you to know that there are many of us out here who think you are the best nollywood has to offer and we are solidly behind you. The sky is your starting place classy actress!
