I love weddings, I love weddings, I love weddings! I know that seems weird for a guy to say but I do and after attending the holy solemnization between Funke Ayotunde Akindele (Jenifa) and Adeola Kehinde Oloyede on Saturday 26th May 2012 at The Haven, G.R.A, Ikeja, Lagos, my love for weddings grew even more and more.
The Traditional Ceremony
The traditional ceremony which began at 12 Noon was anchored by Folusho Ogunjimi of the Sokoyokoto fame. Guests present were Ireti Osayemi, Lola Magaret, Lanre Hassan, Femi Brainard and a host of others. As the ceremony went on, attendees were given chilled refreshing drinks and finger licking small chops. After the arrival of the Groom (Kehinde Oloyede) with his friends, the damsel every one was waiting for – Funke Akindele arrived in style with her close friends and family covered in a see-through veil. The two love birds were finally joined together as husband and wife the traditional way and as Funke’s parents gave her away to her husband’s family, her mother couldn’t help but shed a few tears of joy, she was comforted by Ireti Osayemi.

The White Wedding
After the traditional ceremony, everyone moved to the venue for the wedding ceremony which kicked off at 2 PM.
The Grand Entrance of the Bride & Her Father
Funke walked hand-in-hand with her father in a beautiful crystal adorned Mai Atafo Gown which was made just in 3 Days. She finished the look with an up do hairstyle, drop down chandelier earrings, a silver bracelet and sparkling silver pumps.
After being declared husband and wife, the M.C of the day - Gbenga Adeyinka the 1st, got everyone laughing with his hilarious jokes.

Some of your most loved celebrities came out in style to support Funke on her Big Day. Actors from the English speaking Nollywood sector present were Glo Ambassadors – Desmond Elliot, Ini Edo, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha and Odunlade Adekola, Genevieve Nnaji who kept her look simple in an Ankara jacket and white pants, Omoni Oboli and her husband, Susan Peters, dressed in a traditional attire, Halima Abubakar, Grace Amah, Damilola Adegbite from Tinsel who looked pretty in a knee length Pink cocktail dress and many others.
Actors from the Yoruba Nollywood sector include Iya Rainbow (Idowu Philips), Lola Afolayan (Lola Idije), Eniola Badmus (Gbogbo Bigz Girlz), Peju Ogunmola, Sikiratu Sindodo, Muyiwa Ademola, Jide Kosoko and his daughter Sola, Opeyemi Aiyeola, Dayo Amusa and more. Other big names from the Nigerian entertainment industry present were Denrele, who was very nice and took photos with anyone and everyone, Dayo Adeneye and wife, AY and his wife Mabel, Kenny Saint Best, Julius Agwu, Sasha, Kaffy and her fiancé, Adams from Spice TV and many more.
Jumobi Mofe Damijio of GLO stayed throughout the wedding to render her big sisterly support to Funke. Her bestie Ariyike, Shola Ajayi and Wale George were also present to support.
Music
For the couple’s first dance, Tosin Martins performed his hit track Olo Mi. Then the very gorgeous Miss Tiwa Savage got everyone on their feet with her song Love Me (3x), then she later performed Azonto, which saw Funke beat her husband hands down with her dance steps and she finally sang Alicia Keys’ chart topping single – If I Ain’t Got You where she hit every sonorous high note perfectly,eLDee Da Don was also around to perform Today Today.

It appears Funke is pregnant coz her tummy is usually flatter than whats showing in the pictures. I also heard the gist about the groom being a family man. Well, all well and good. I used to see her as a nice Christian role model (tho with n Islamic background) with godly values that positively influence soceity in her movies. I went for National Women’s Prayer Summit in April and Funke led a very hot praying session about family values, raising children who love God, God’s principles being enthroned in the hearts of young girls etc. Am a bit disappointed about the rumors, hope they are not true.
Nevertheless, she is now married. She is STILL a FANTASTIC ACTRESS and I wish her all the best in her marriage.
