Still Waxing Strong After 2 Decades: America’s First Couple Barack & Michelle Obama Celebrate their 20th Wedding Anniversary

It’s one of the sweetest things to see a couple, who after several years of marriage, are still waxing strong with their love; to see them share a gentle touch, a passionate hug, an affectionate kiss in public. If there is any couple that gets us swooning with their public display of affection, it is the Obamas. Their evident love and admiration for each other just make you go ….awww, how sweet.
America’s first couple got us swooning again when they marked their 20th Wedding Anniversary yesterday, October 3rd, 2012. Despite their busy schedule at the ongoing Presidential campaign, Barack and Michelle still found time to express their feelings for each other.
They took to Twitter to send each other messages. Barack first tweeted this at his wife:
A while later, Michelle replied with this:
This certainly makes us feel fuzzy inside. We totally love their love and wish them a happy wedding anniversary.

While I am happy for them, I must confess that I am always weary of SEEMINGLY lovey dovey couples. Especially when they are public figures. Kennedy was the perfect husband, until we found out about the string of mistresses. So was Clinton. So was Tiger Woods. I’m not saying that they don’t love each other, I mean they are DEFINITELY a team. But as for all the lovey, dovey? Let’s just say I’ve learned that all that glitters is not gold. No disrespect to them, after all, I do love me some Michelle.

When you find the right person some many things fall in place. Obama married the love of his life, friend and above all one who believes so much in his dreams, and she fan the flame. I have said to my self that whoever I marry must believe in my dreams as I believe in hers. We all need someone who shows us the details on the dreamway we fail to see, help us get them and not to dissuade us from making major steps in our aspirations but to be confortable with the ordinary or the average. Michele and barack have never ever claimed to have a perfect marriage. matter of fact, they’ve been quite open about their struggles and the obstacles they had to overcome particularly in their early year of marriage.-they even almost divorced. a happy marriage=/= a perfect marriage. A happy marriage is one where the couple have striven and overcome together…it’s about going tthrough t he fire together and coming out refined, stronger and more beautiful

@Evann, if you want Michelle’s Silky hair texture, then over to B’Natural Spa for some Keratin Hair Smoothing Treatment.. that’s what I use consistently for the past 1year and my hair is the same length as the Obama’s first daughter.

People commenting on the Obama’s depicting a perfect marraige obviously aren’t married themselves. There is no such thing as a perfect marriage- you have ups and downs in marriage just as you do in life. The trick is to try to have more up times. The photographers have captured them during these ‘up’ times which is remarkable after 20 years
