BN Exclusive: Genevieve Nnaji, Tiwa Savage, Dr Sid & Don Jazzy “Reach Out” to Flood Displaced Delta Indigenes – View the Photos & Video
Posted on Friday, October 19th, 2012 at 4:50 PMBy Damilare Aiki
On Monday 15th – Tuesday 16th October 2012, Nollywood star, Genevieve Nnaji and Mavin Records crew, Don Jazzy, Dr Sid and Tiwa Savage, put together relief supplies and personally visited refugee camps located in Asaba, Delta State to show both physical and moral support to the residents affected by the flooding in the environment.
According to BN News’ findings, the flood, currently ravaging several settlements across the nation has displaced over 100,000 families, leaving several tens of thousand people homeless and without any business to keep them afloat.
Genevieve, Tiwa, Don Jazzy and Dr Sid visited Asaba to distribute relief supplies, as well as use their celebrity influence to help raise awareness on this ongoing natural disaster via the Reach Out Initiative.
The Reach Out Initiative, a programme started by the superstars themselves, will be utilized to get a lot more people involved both within and outside the country in donating help, either through relief supplies or financial donations.
Speaking to BellaNaija, Nollywood actress, Genevieve said “This is just the beginning, as our country has never experienced anything like this. The government is doing the best they can, but we as citizens, can also partake in helping the situation in the best way we can. The plan is to get more people involved, and visit more relief camps in the affected states.”
To help support the cause by donating , you can get in touch with the Reach Out Initiative rep by calling +2348094084081 and/or sending an e-mail to reachoutflood2012@gmail.com

May God bless u guys abundantly
Good job! Kudos.
Smart and selfless people!!! Proud!!!
I am happy to see this post and to see Nigerians unite to do good for Nigeria! I wish we could also show more of non celebrities helping other Nigerians. It will encourage a lot of us to think that you don’t need to have a lot of money to help others.
Aww @ Genevieve trying to politically correct “The government is doing the best they can” What are they doing? You know those suckers aint doing sh*t for the people. F*ck the government! These leaders have proven to be failures. Let us Nigerian citizens do the best we can to help one another.
well done guys, God bless you peeps
Look how happy the people are after receiving their gifts. You can tell they do appreciate.
Look at celebs doing the nigerian government’s job chai Goodluck Jobathannnnnnn your place is reserved in bad history, kudos to all that donated
God bless you guys!! I’m so proud of you!
Am I the only one seeing that they are giving fabric to displaced pple I really dnt see how it makes sense
Maybe they lost their clothes in the flood. Maybe they’ll sell the fabric. Either way they didn’t say ‘no’ to the fabric so I suppose they’ll find some use for it.
What did you give IRIS?
IT CAN BE USED AS; Duvet, wrapper, to sleep on the floor…lots…lol
err TeeTee are you confused or what? Did I not respond to Princess by saying that they were not unhappy to get fabric and that it would be useful in some way? *rolls eyes*
is it not good to give them fabric so they can sow clothes?
Delta state government have gotten opportunity to exploit it’s people and embezzle money, when they say how much they spent for this event……. Hiss
how come Tiwa wore rain boots *confused smiley*
You called it RAIN boots, and they were in a flooded area; were you expecting her to wear heels?
Love ur reply!!!
Thati s great of them but I think what they need more than anything are all ready made clothing, food supply and shelter. Great start
@princess they’d use it to sleep, bath, tie it etc. Abi u tink they have well laid beds???
pls tell them for me o..one cannot assume because what they think will be good for them will be good for another group of people. Wrapper is more valuable for them because they can use it to do a variety of things.
@princess i’m with you on that one o. Makes no sense at all. The reach out tshirts they were wearing would have been far better.
God bless them.
What did you give people contribuite please?
Glad to you all supporting. God bless you all for shinning light on the problem.
As for the critics, they will need fabric / wrappers to cover themselves. it is an overwhelming problem and you have to start somewhere.
If she is in a flood prone area, an area that just experienced the worst floods in history, why shouldn’t she wear rain boots??? Sometimes people confuse me with these comments.
Err so you expect her to wear heels in a flooded place abi?
FORGIVE me forgive, that comment was for madam Graceful
Stay here and criticize…what did u give? Mtschewwww…..well done to the Marvin crew and jeni. BankyW ll nt go n occupy Nigeria on dis course o, with his massive head.#okbye
U did not even give them key soap and ur here talkn trash.
Lol!!!!!! ‘Key soap’ …haven’t heard that in ages….
Graceful is this post about fashion…go and ask Tiwa itself…hiss
*urself*
Tiwa and Genevieve, my 2 favorite female celebrities. Good team work, didn’t know the flood thing was so serious. omg!!
Haha, EXACTLY what I was going to type-My 2 fav female celebrities.
Those criticizing what was given, what have you given? The boots Tiwa is wearing are plastic boots which are meant for flooded, muddy places. What is wrong in wearing that? Maybe I’m confused oh, educate me.
Good and selfless cause, proud of u all and plz we could do with the support of more well meaning nigerians on this- these people are really going through a lot. Heard over the news that some ladies where even raped in one of the centres.
Y would’nt they smile when handing over the gifts though?
http://www.thatssewnaija.blogspot.com
I’m happy they took time out to do this unlike we who are relaxing behind our computers..as an aside they look all glam
Bravo!
By the comments some people leave on this bellanaija you will just know the kind of people they are. You won’t do anything, but you’ll criticize the one that is doing something.
Commendable! Our stars are doing good. We all need to help out in our own little way. God bless y’all

http://www.gistyinka.com
See everybody’s face while Dr. Sid was speaking, looks like he just gaffed lol
Fault finders, can’t u see the picture no 14? Am very sure non of u have or Is even thinking of helping, yet you sit behind your computers and cellphones to criticise people that brought out there time and money to help.
Hmm…politics!
That’s all you can see and say??? Na wa! Smh
If helping others is politics in Nigeria, I will support such politics!
I had chills when Tiwa was singing..
well done guys,God bless.
Two of my favourite people Genny and Tiwa
Ps: I know it’s no fashion post, both Genny and Tiwa looked very nice..bye!
notice tiwa and genevieve did not take photos together LOL . watch the body language of tiwa. she looks terrified of genevieve lol! I hear from the grape vines that gene is not so friendly. Bella post this oh. on the other hand, good job taking care of these people hope the government wakes up and does more. good to know the people are ready to fight and help their country be a better place. kudos!
Go TIWA!!! Fantastic job guys… great use of your talent and status to bless others.
Great work/iniative Don Jazzy Baba, Genevive Nnaji(ada Oma Igbo ji ejemba) and co. For this singular act, may the Lord hear you all in the days of your trouble and the name of God of Jacob defend you all, May He always remember your offering to this our displaced fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers and Children, and for this reason, may He always send you all help from His holy sanctuary IJN.
May God replenish the purse of all that donated their time and money.
Btw , what is the Cameroonian govt. doing after causing this havoc?
Cannot believe my eyes. This cannot be Asaba. Wow o wow. How unfortunate that this should happen in a country with no emergency planning in place for anything.
God bless genny don jazzy tiwa and everyone who suport dis people in need,GOD BLESS EVERYBODY IN DAT CONDITION
big ups guys. fantastic job.
And the man in the middle chose to wear ‘RUN’?????????? (sorry guys, just couldn’t miss that one)
thank you my sister you get eyes. the man na case i swear you. the fact genevieve and tiwa are in a pic with him dey boil my blood sef. it flawed everything for me. i love genevieve probably her biggest and oldest fan but the way she always cover the smelling yansh of our yeye government boils me. she and them mavin gangs have are doing the best they can as common citizens not government. people are hungry in that camp, the food provision is poor!!!! delta is a oil rich state. one quarter the money that their so called governor uses to rome about *long hisss* can be put in place for feeding. from the news i done receive the suffering there na die. government should not do the best they can they MUST STOP THE SUFFERING!!!!!!! that is why they are government. didn’t want to talk but you open ground for me with your comment.
People who read your comment will actually think you have been to the camps. Ignorance is a very strong thing. Show me another state that has a camp close to what you see in the video or pictures! Silly. Mschew
you are saying there isnt suffering in the camp?? have you been there???? “from the news i don receive” should indicate i havent been there so wetin you de yarn complete dust. mstchew!!!!

These are the kind of people want in the World. They are philiantropist in action. We simply love you.
Hmmm anyone notice Tiwa and Genevieve’s left ring finger……….
Oh wow, I am so astonished by this great attitude, May God bless them all. See how happy the victims look, brought tears to my eyes.
And is that the Orode that got married? We’re yet to see her wedding pictures, BN.
9ice 1 Genny, Tiwatope & others God will bless u IJN
Can you imagine, they just dropped another womans child on the ground just because they want to show us that they donated baby mosquito net. SMH anything for Publicity
Tiwa Savage,i’m dissappointed. You clearly were not wearing that engagement ring in the first pic and then suddenly it appears whilst you are “sensitively” or maybe strategically rubbing the baby’s head. Is this the next angle you want the media to take? “Tiwa Savage Engaged”. How insensitive of you and your pr team to think this was the perfect opportunity!
Why are you bothered about a ring when they went there for something more important..
And if u most know, the first pic with the governor is obviously a before the day they went to the camp(Genny is wearing a different shirt) and the next day she had the ring on even before the pic with the baby, you can see it on the pic where she wore rain boots…and the ring doesn’t even look like an engagement ring..
I don’t even know why I’m replying you with explanation , your comment is unbelievable ..an engagement ring (or not)is all you could point out from the pictures..
I guess u aren’t the only one disappointed,cos I am for this comment..hiss
some people are saddist ojare. they attack this celebrities for no reason. tiwa savage is the biggest female brand in music and probably the second biggest so expect saddist to full everywhere to bring her down. i wont be surprised if that person is an insider so e de pepper her tiwa is doing something them people no get sense do. i like as you gave it to her.
Well done to these celebs
So funny that some people can find reason to complain about celebs reaching out to our brothers and sisters affected by flood. Is that normal? (Yes, it is normal human behaviour – never satisfied)
Na waaaa oooo.
After donating 2 million naira to a cancer patient, Don Jazzy leads another worthy cause, this guy z simply an unstoppable altruist….respect man
GOD bless them real good.
princess at least they gave something..you what did you give? since you have a better gift why not go get off ur butt and do something about it….mchtewwwww!! GR8 JOB GUYS!!! at least you guys reached out.
I know bellanaija won’t post my comment but I’d send this regardless.
Great work from DonJazzy, Genevieve, Tiwa and the rest of them, they are mere citizens so it’s great to see people as such making efforts and helping the less privileged. So very proud of them. My God bless them suitably! Amen.
About the Governor, I’ve learned to keep everything about politics to myself, but as many people have mentioned, Delta is an oil rich state. The Deltans shouldn’t be suffering like that, I know verywell the Governor did not cause the flood and I am not here to accuse him but he should try and help these people.
Last year, there was this same flood issue and according to media reports, he fixed a road in a few days supposedly for his daughters wedding and certain roads were blocked, it’s totally unfair, when I read reports like that I don’t feel happy, I’m not even from Delta state neither am I from Nigeria.
If these musicians can be this generous, the politicians are capable of doing more.
Again, God bless these artistes, I’m not Nigerian but I’m immensely proud of them.
