Just seven months ago, it was “game over” for Congolese/British Footballer Fabrice Muamba as he collapsed on the pitch during an FA Cup Quarter Final Match between his club Bolton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur. According to doctors who revived him, his heart stopped, therefore he was “technically dead for 78 minutes“.

Just a few days ago on Sunday 21st of October 2012, Fabrice tied the knot with his sweetheart and mother of his son, Shauna Magunda. The grand wedding which took place at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire featured celebrity footballers including Robin Van Persie with his wife Bouchra and Andy Cole. The couple’s son Joshua was the page boy while renowned footballer Thierry Henry was reportedly the best man.

According to the UK Telegraph, “Muamba proposed to Shauna on Valentine’s Day, a month before his cardiac arrest at White Hart Lane. Despite his recovery,- he was fitted with a pacemaker – he retired from the game in August.”

BN wishes Fabrice and Shauna a happy life together. Miracles do happen!

Awwww! Lovely story. Was really happy when I learnt of his coming back to life and saddened at his early retirement. Congrats to them both. Life is for the living. Maximise every minute.

@Idak – at least the sneakers are black, not white or coloured like some of the ones I saw my aboki brothers wear during this Sallah break.

@idak… He is rich enough to wear whatever he wants!!!! Have u guys noticed that the richest people are the simplest dressers, they ain’t bothered with the norm…. They make their own trends

I am no fashion slave and neither am i asking Rbin to be one. Wearing a suit with what looks like trainers is inappropriate for the attire and the event in question. Whether it is done by the rich or the poor, the inappropriateness remains.
You don’t have to be rich to wear what you want, even the poor have that freedom.

You never know, it might be for medical or therapeutic reasons. I know most sport people do have this for bone/back injuries.

More importantly, Happy Married Life to Fabrice and his spouse. May the events of the recent past never be forgotten and may they be a spring board to your experience of God’s abiding presence in your home, marriage, life and whatever Fabrice chooses to do in the coming days. Congratulations!!
