Vaseline relaunches with Unmatchable Purity – Unveiled at Premiere of “As Pure as a Mother’s Love” Stage Play in Lagos

FMCG giant, Unilever Nigeria Plc., has unveiled its New Triple Purified Vaseline Petroleum Jelly into the Nigerian Market with its ‘As Pure as a Mother’s Love’ stage play directed by internationally acclaimed Playwright and Director, Wole Oguntokun and performed at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

The stage play brought together several dignitaries including Her Excellency, First Lady of Lagos State, Abimbola Fashola represented by Mosunmola Junaid; celebrities in the entertainment industry, members of the business community and other stakeholders.

While speaking at the occasion, representative of the First Lady of Lagos State, Mosunmola Junaid, said that mothers were a gift to the world and that she is proud of hers and the mother she also has become. “Truly there is nothing as pure as a mother’s love. It is kind and sacrificial bearing the whole family along with strong, loving arms. In-fact, it is the purest love that exists on earth.”

In his welcome address, Managing Director, Unilever Nigeria, Thabo Mabe, said that the event was symbolic of Unilever’s commitment to making the lives of its consumers more beautiful, enriching their lives, while also showcasing the high purity standards of the New Vaseline Petroleum Jelly.

Explaining further on Campaign activities for the relaunch, Director, Brand Building, Unilever Nigeria, David Okeme, said that the stage play has given Unilever the opportunity to showcase and give audiences the experience of a story that displays pureness to that of a mother’s love.

The month-long campaign building up to the relaunch tagged “As pure as a mother’s love” was designed to celebrate mothers and promote the love they have for their children over generations. The campaign called for photo and story entries with various responses. Emerging winners from these competitions were presented with their winnings during the event.

The stage play ‘As pure as a Mother’s Love’ as directed by expert playwright, Wole Oguntokun, brought to life the experience of Mothers as key members of the family and what they go through to keep their children and families as a whole.  It also displayed the pureness of mother’s love and its ability to keep families closely knit together.
