On Friday 1st of February 2013, Hugo Boss launched its flagship store at the Palms Mall in Lekki, and its target customers in Nigeria were introduced to the Boss brand at a lavish cocktail hosted by Tinsel Star Gideon Okeke.
The Hugo Boss store was officially commissioned for business by the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, Reginald Ihejiahi. Other notable guests in attendance at the event were the Managing Director Diamond Bank, Alex Oti; Managing Director FCMB, Ladi Balogun; models Oluchi Orlandi and Ojy Okpe; Iyanya amongst others.
According to the organisers, it was a fashionable night of sophistication, glamour coupled with an overflow of Champagne by Moet et Chandon, and Hor’ D’oeuvres served by BellaNaija Cuisine Columnist Chef Fregz.
Hugo Boss is one of the world’s leading fashion and lifestyle group which sells its products in 124 countries worldwide. The store currently stocks both men and women’s collections of the core brand Boss Black and Boss Green. In future, collections will include Boss Orange and some of the Avant Garde line of Hugo.

lol i tell you.
Hope he spent it buying something for himself, sure looks like he needs it
The stores are beginning to have the same look and feel-it’s almost becoming boring. I hope they hired great sales execs for excellent customer service.

Hmmmmm..classy people,where they selected?
This African century ,Africa is growing rapidly and is hot cake in emerging market in the world. Nigeria is power house of the African market. The African GDP is growing at the rate of 6 to 8 percent every years. I am appealing to our people are thinking of rushing to Europe and America please stay home and take this great opportunity. Many new generation of European are heading to Africa for opportunity. I am saying this from my experience of been immigrant in both Europe and America now. I have been leaving in the west for twenty two years now. Life in the west is too stressful. Now many store brand can now be found in African continent like any other country in Europe ans US. If our government can do something about power. Millions will return home. My dream is to become a commercial farmer when i return home. Is the most lucrative business. If many of our youth who a dreaming to come Europe or America. Set up their vegetable garden with their mobile phone in hand and get the job done. In garden you don”t need to much money to start the business. The mother nature will finished up the rest.
And your assumption is all based on this so so Hugo Boss shop?
You see a so-so Hugo Boss shop. We see a chance to leave indelible marks and carve out our own spaces in a market that has been and is even more quickly being taken over by non-African and/or Nigerian based brands and businesses.
Any repatriate returning home to do something positive, utilize the skills they’ve won and built living in other functioning societies and create jobs in the country of Nigeria is a + in my book.

that 100k guy must be igbo, see his face.
Can you take your ethnic profiling away from this blog? You and your type are the very thing wrong with this country.
all we need is good people, with good heads to run that country good!!
OUR YOUTHS NEED JOB OO,INSTEAD OF OPENIN ALL DESE EXPENSIVE STORES!
Hugo Boss is such a “has been” designer . But of course, they will set up shop in Nigeria where everything is such a big deal and attract people who like to feel like they are rich and know about fashion. I’ll get excited when Christian Louboutin or Jason Wu shows up.
You are a reverse intellectual snob walking the streets of Peckham. You cannot afford a Loubie if it sold for $10. Jason Wu owes his fame to that ivory, one shouldered gown Michelle wore to the inaugural ball in 2009. We do not mind Hugo Boss or any other “has been” designer setting up shops here so long as they pay taxes. So ti gbo?
chai u hit below the belt o…hahahahah
Has been? Not for men. His suits, shirts and perfumes are still selling like crazy.
its HUGO BOSS people, nigerians will buy, garri no get advert but e sell pass indomie. they don’t need excellent customer service, infact they may attend to customers based on purchasing power, but they will sell. next time you walk past the store, take a peek and see how many olowo nigerians are inside.
where did gideon okeke pop up from
Gideon Okeke should be the face of Boss Nigeria…IMO.

Am I a hater because I’m not impressed? Hugo boss has made a ton of money all over the globe, must I now be impressed that hey have opened up shop to make money in Nigeria too? I’d prefer it if this was a local quality brand opening up shop. It would mean factory jobs, retail jobs, marketing jobs an modeling jobs for Nigerians.
People still wear HUGO BOSS!! whomp!…Whomp!…..Whomp!!! Boooooo! If they can’t sell in America why not take it to Africa.
