Did you know the life expectancy of the average Nigerian is only 53 years and 2 months? A statistic that puts Nigeria well behind global and regional figures. Can you imagine that 9 out of every 10 deaths in Nigeria occur from causes that are completely preventable? The HealthZone aims to combat these unfortunate statistics by educating everyday Nigerians about preventive care.

The HealthZone is a 30 minute television health magazine program that focuses on the delivery of health education on the most common ailments affecting the Nigerian population, in simple terms that anyone can understand. The show features a panel of nationally and internationally acclaimed consultant specialists in each of the medical conditions of focus. Each week their physician expert moderator, Dr. Toju Chike-Obi, facilitates an in-depth discussion of a particular medical condition with a guest specialist, and also samples perspectives and myths from their wildly popular “Man on the Street Segment”.

The HealthZone will premiere on Channels TV, on Thursday 2nd April 2015 at 3:30PM. Thirteen (13) episodes of the show’s first season will then air Thursday 2nd April 2015 at 3:30PM on topics ranging from kidney disease to diabetes and malaria. Notable guests include Dr. Ebun Bamgboye, Dr. Akan Otu, Dr. Efunbo Dosekun, Dr. Yemi Johnson, Dr. Femi Fasanmade, Prof. Frank Ojini and Dr. Chito Nwana.
