Chivas “The Venture” calls for Nigerian Entries in the $1 Million search to Fund Start-ups

The Venture is a search for entrepreneurial thinkers interested in business for good. With over $1 million in funding and resources, The Venture enables social entrepreneurs from around the world to realize their potential and gain exposure for their business.

In partnership with Co-Creation Hub, entries are now open to social enterprises from across Nigeria and across all fields. This is the initial of three main stages of competition with a shortlist of 15 expected to make it to the Semifinal Boot-Camp after an open assessment process with clear criteria. A final cut down to 5 will make it to the Finals with a winner expected to emerge in December 2015 with a regional prize of N1 million.

The Nigerian winner will go on to challenge the most promising from over 25 countries across 6 continents. All global finalists will get a chance to compete for a share in $1m global funding and the chance to take part in The Venture’s Accelerator Week where they will be mentored by global business leaders, industry experts and successful social entrepreneurs.

Heading the judging panel is Social Entrepreneur and President, Chocolate City Music Group, Audu Maikori. Over the course of the search, Audu will be joined by a rotating group of sub judges chosen based on experience, business acumen and expertise.

The Venture website is also home to expert advice and insight, developed in partnership with Fast Company and global business leaders, on how to launch a successful social enterprise and the business of “doing good”.

To support entries, Chivas Regal has scheduled an Information Session for Tuesday 20th of October at the Co Creation Hub office in Yaba, to provide applicants an opportunity to learn more about The Venture. In addition to that a Twitter meet would also be conducted to further address prospective applicant’s concerns.
