Exclusive Look At The Ohema Ohene Premier Menswear Collection
We were first attracted to Fashion Label Ohema Ohene when they launched OH!- The labels accessory and footwear range. It was their organic blend of modernity with traditional motifs with their footwear that grabbed our attention and landed a feature on BN.
The Label is currently looking to expand its portfolio with their first menswear collection on the way!
London based English designer of Ghanaian heritage Abenaa Pokuaa gives BN an exclusive look at her first menswear collection to be released later this summer.
Her first foray into menswear sees her fuse batik African print- her signature fabric -with knit to create a sports chic collection. The collection is made up of bow ties, hoodies, jumpers, cardigans and vests all of which except the bow ties are not done to death with batik print but lined subtly on the tips and underneath the hood.
It is always good to see clothing inspired by or referencing Africa as it keeps the spotlight on Africa. Sincerely speaking from a fashion/style angle, there has never been a better time to be African.

Does this fellow have just one model?!
But seriously, what is so ”African” about very western clothing being trimmed with wax prints/ankara? Abeg! Enough of tagging something as African just because it has ankara on it. Psheeew
