Big Brother Africa III Star Uti Nwachukwu steps into the music scene with debut single “Go Down”

Most reality TV stars enjoy their proverbial ’15 minutes of fame’ and bounce from the spotlight. There have been few exceptions worldwide who have managed to carve out careers from their reality TV exposure.
Big Brother Africa III’s Nigerian housemate, Uti Nwachukwu was popular during his time on the show. Since then, we’ve seen him on the red carpet of showbiz events but now we know what he’s really been up to!
Uti is kicking off his music career and has just released his debut single – “Go Down“. Its a naija-pop song with some reggae influenced moments.
Check it out! Should Uti stick to music or snap back to reality?

  23. fokasibe

    July 8, 2010 at 10:55 am

People please before you write music, try to think about the audience and the message you want to pass across…ths is plain mediocrity!

  28. Omada

    July 9, 2010 at 4:16 am

is it just me or the song sounds a bit like Doneao’s Party Hard? esp. the beginning? not only the beat but the singing style?
must every ‘musician’ sing about a girl’s ‘bootie’? seriously? rubbish!
you people should get creative abeg, we are tired of the same old stuff abeg…

Uti, pls give the singing a break abeg….

  29. Rimzy

    July 9, 2010 at 5:40 am

Paula: This is beautiful, i think you are very handsome and sexy…hehehehe…

Randy: Yo dawg listen, i think you’ve got some dope beats, i was feeling the beats,
i was not feeling the harmonies though. Was you trying to go Bollywood?

Simon: That was absolutely horrible, i feel like, when i die, i would be punished for
all the bad things i did, and listening to that song will be my punishment..

  30. Sandra

    July 9, 2010 at 7:19 am

Nigerians sha!! Una too dey drink haterade juice! haters kwa!
    Lmao @cricket and observer…indian song..hahahaha

Anyway, let’s be real, would i want to listen to this song in a club or in my room? No. But on bright note, he has a good voice. He just needs to hook himself up with a good song writer and Don Jazzy/Cobhams for good beats. I wish him the very best!

  31. Donald Iwuchukwu

    July 9, 2010 at 7:09 pm

ok,,,this is VERY UNBELIEVABLE!!…this is the first site im visiting that everyone “coincedentally”desnt like the song!!!…this is really suspecious..i think the owners of this site have beef or hatred for this brother and so decided to create many fake names and diss this Wonderful Song..the patterns are all the same, the language the!!! grow upp!!!…this is a fantastic song!! and as for the owners of this site….SHAME ON YOU!!,,kai..God forgive this our country…filled with biteer people..thats why the country will never grow…SMH!…
i dare you to allow this post!! wont cause its the Truth!!!

  32. Omada

    July 9, 2010 at 11:28 pm

Donald, the reason why everyone doesn’t like the song, is bcos the song is crappy! period!
it has nothing to do with bitterness or hate…
as for your comment on the owners of the site creating fake names to ‘diss this wonderful song’?
just shows how ignorant and juvenile you are…

just bcos people don’t like what you like, doesn’t make them bitter… you should GROW UP!

  33. Babes

    July 10, 2010 at 5:25 am

When Uti announced on fb he was releasing a single, I was shocked.
I said to myself “here goes anoda individual ready to embarass himself”.
This song jst proved me right, I held my breath while listening and bust
into laughter at the end. Singing is nt for evry1 pls.
And as for Donald, I will advise you direct ur bitterness @ Uti, cuz I suspect
    ur his frend or sumfn

  34. kenobi

    July 10, 2010 at 5:56 am

You guys r supposed to encourage him as a first timer, not criticize! At least the song is different from your regular local naija music! just give him time and you’ll see… nICE on there Uti!

  35. kenobi

    July 10, 2010 at 5:59 am

I see u haters humming to this song 3 weeks from now!!!

  36. Rimzy

    July 10, 2010 at 7:36 am

When someone releases an artistic endeavor out in the hopes that he can make
some profit of it, then we the consumers have a reason to criticize it, you know why?
Because i don’t want to buy rubbish, the same reason why i won’t buy a Lil’wayne
album because as a consumer i don’t find that it appeals to me, this is not about hating
this is about making a decision based on what was presented, thats why i don’t have
a single out, i cannot sing, but i can solve some serious mathematics, see, i recognize
my talent and i put them to good use, rather than chasing a dream that is futile.

I am really surprised at u guys ooo, all u need do is listen to d song again and u will c that he is far better than d junk we hear this dayz. u all danced to koko by dbanj and a lot of nonesense at d clubs. 38. Elvis Tambo

    July 10, 2010 at 10:47 am

Haterzzzzzzz. just passing thru n i saw a lot of hate from u guys. what’s wrong with d vibe? a dance song is a dance song any day. have u listened to his rock song yet? u guys shud watch what u say or nobody will encourage u when it gets to ur turn. i listened to his interview on radio and boy, d song was played over n over again, then i realized that this song is gonna rock d clubs real soon. July 10, 2010 at 11:33 am

hmmmm.. I saw the headlines and decided to check if i can listen to the song here. honestly, i see nothing wrong with the song or is it because its Uti’s song or what? this is a good start by all standards. i like his attitude on the song and the sky is his starting point if he continues like this. Learnt he has some other songs too. please it is good we all encourage him on this one. dbanj was not born a musician and we all know how he started and today we are all dancing to his tunes. abeg abeg abeg…

  42. silva

    July 11, 2010 at 1:18 am

i think someone told Uti that people were not feeling his song, so all his friends have rushed here to defend him… lol…
if someone doesn’t like something, it doesn’t make them a hater…
even D’banj & 2face get criticized for some of their songs…

  43. Abinibini

    July 11, 2010 at 2:56 am

some few good comments, not bad and i smell a lot of bad belle comments too. what is actually wrong with u nigerians. if to say na akon sing am or donaeo, una go jus dey dance and praise d guy. now e don reach the turn to praise una own, na so so bad belle. if na Uti sing am nko? wetin dey wrong? na waa for all of una wey go praise oyibo come hate una own black man. d song sweet joooor. i go keep encouraging talents like this our own. if this partucular song by Uti can stare this much controversy btw you guys, then i must admit that the song is gonna b a hit soon. Just listened to the song on radio and beleive me, its not that bad coming from someone like Uti bcos we’ve not heard him sing before now. The brother is good joooooooor. better than the crap we hear this days. like someone wrote, if truly it was akon or donaeo’s song, you’ll all be bouncing to the beats. dont judge the song by listening on your computers, try listen on d radio or your sound system, maybe then you all bad belle pple will have a re think.

The song is not bad.It is actually very nice. The beat has a different feel and it’s not like the usual Nigerian song s produced nowadays. Listen to it again guys at first I felt the same way too but listen to it at least twice and you will notice it’s great! If you can love D’banj’s Mr Endowed and Kas’s Finile, I see no reason why you shouldn’t love Go down by Uti.
