They Got Their ‘Dream’ Day! Photos from the NaMyWedding Dream Wedding

It was a ‘dream come true’ for Timi and Tope, the lucky winners of the first edition of the Dream Wedding Splash competition.  On the 26th of June 2010,  Timi and Tope along with 700 guests including family, friends and well-wishers , celebrated their union at the Manor Hall in Lekki, Lagos.

The wedding which was valued at over 8 Million Naira was  promised during the competition hosted absolutely free by the team and its partners.

Timi’s wedding look was inspired by fairytale princesses and she definitely looked the part in her strapless chiffon and tulle wedding dress. The four-tier cake was shaped like a pumpkin with crystal stones to make it glitter, suiting the fairytale theme. The hall  beautifully decorated, filled with vibrant colours of purple, sage green decorations. The guests added extra flavour to the atmosphere in their fuchsia pink aso-ebi.

The wedding was planned which was planned by Zapphire events  climaxed with the surprise performance by Nigerian musician, Obiwon who serenaded the couple with hits from his album. The groom also sang a special song for the bride, it was truly a touching moment.

Up next, the lucky couple is off to the Obudu Mountain Resort where they will be pampered during their honeymoon. They will also enjoy $2,000 after-wedding shopping spree courtesy Zenith Bank. Congrats Tope and Timi best wishes to you guys as you commence your new life together. Did anyone see the way the girl’s dad (presumably) was just scowling at the guy when he “dobale-d”. As if, “see this boy coming to carry my daughter just like that.” 

P.S. For person questioning the manner in which the money was spent (and I don’t see why), the article said the wedding was valued at 8million naira – all expenses paid. Basically what this translates to is that service providers donated their services to the competition without charge. The 8million figure is based on valuation of what these providers typically charge. No money was given to Timi and Tope as far as I am aware. In any case it’s in bad taste to suggest that the money was not well spent, irrespective of whether cash was handed to them or not, especially since they won it fair and square.

Wish them the best now, do your unsolicited auditing at another time.

Na my wedding Rocks. Job well done! To the auditors, they weren’t promised the cash, they were promised an all expense paid wedding which is exactly what they got to the letter.
