BN Exclusive – Video WORLD PREMIERE: Why Can’t We – Asa

Asa never fails to totally bring it, whether in her videos or when she’s performing live on stage. Her follow-up to Be My Man, doesn’t let up on the vibrant and charmingly endearing new Asa that we’ve seen since she unveiled her sophomore album – Beautiful Imperfection.

Fantastic stuff right here.

Tune in

i was wondering what it would be like if asa and bruno mars did a song together!
wooosh! i’d probably be addicted to the song for life!!!!….their voices have such amazing textures!

  • Chibaby May 28, 2011 at 6:12 pm

Her songs are now too westernised.Where’s the touch of Nigeria we used to see in her old songs? Asa dont let your songs stop relating with ‘all’ Naija people oh. That’s what gives it that magic touch. A lot of English songs sound like this eg Olly Murs,Bruno Mars, etc. I can understand that you would like to become popular in the UK/US though. However I think you should do a more Native version of some of your new songs.

You, dear friend, apparently didn’t buy the album. Till you do, take a seat \_ and enjoy the beautiful music. Here’s also some Sprite with ice cubes, just for you \%/.

u obviously havent listened to “beautiful imperfection” so park well..
mind you, shes not after popularity in the UK/US..if you know Asa and her music u wouldn’t make this comment..

sigh Chibaby im sorry but your what… 200 words of reaching out to Asa on how UnNigerian or Too Westernized her music is sheer ignorance and you come off as not even knowing who Asa is and what she is about… Pls on the album there are 3 songs that are sung in Yoruba, she wrote the album here in Nigeria, and if you havent noticed she has been popular internationally since here last album so… Pls the next time you want to make an uninformed, small minded comment… take a moment and think and most likely saying nothing

  • Jade May 30, 2011 at 3:32 pm

I love this song it is sooo great… More power ASA

  • Chibaby May 30, 2011 at 7:14 pm

Leverage, why insult me like that naah! See why they say Naija women fight a lot? Havent heard the whole album but guess i’m judging from the songs ive heard so far. Never said she wasn’t doing a great job, I think she’s a great artist.
