If you’re an avid reader of BellaNaija, you must know how much we love weddings! In Africa, and indeed for our distant relatives – African-Americans – a wedding is not only the union of two people, but also of their families.

The movie Jumping The Broom brings the humour, heartbreak and warmth when two African-Americans, one lower class and one bougie (bourgeois) meet each other’s families for the first time right before their wedding. The couple of six months begins to question their decision to ‘jump the broom’ against a backdrop of family secrets.

Jumping The Broom recently became available on DVD and Blu-Ray on Tuesday, August 9th, 2011. So if you missed the movie in cinemas, here’s your chance to have it delivered right to your doorstep.
Through BN Bargains, our 5th anniversary iPad prize and weekly Afrobeats Festival ticket giveaways, our UK and Nigerian readers have reaped the rewards of being a BN reader.
Now BN is giving away a DVD to a lucky reader who lives in the United States. We know, we wish we could give away more!
