Jane where are your own designs? Put them out then you talk. Or at least make it constructive.

      October 27, 2011 at 4:33 pm

so you are saying Jane must have her designs to be eligible to critique a fashion show? that would imply that these designers are designing for other designer not potential buyers abi? you are soo off on that comment. abeg live and let live.

Gorgeous designs, gorgeous models. Their best accessory, however is their smile. Models should definitely smile more!

Seriously, as far as designing goes, the only interesting thing about this collection is the fabric used. There is no edge to the collection and nothing jumps at you.

For all you who have a problem with criticism, you need to learn that its a part of the fashion/art business. If your stuff is not criticized you cannot learn or grow so please stop drinking panadol for another person’s headache!!! Typical naija attitude of not telling each other the truth!

nice fabrics..that’s all i see. it all reeks of Tiffany Amber’s flowy concept in my opinion. whihc is fine. i mean there are just tooo damn many designers, it’s hard to be original these days. copy copy make everyone shine. all you need is some clique of friends, start sewing and you will become a designer. nonsense and pounded yam

look get it into ur thick skulls fashion industry is full of plagiarism there’s no originality not even lady gaga’s brand is original. ur high street stores r copycats jane norman gives u marchesa for less, selfridges and co gives u big brands for less and oh asos is d chief copier…lol so plss allow us that like ‘original replica’ to appreciate it. u can get inspiration from other designers with a twist of ur own! i appauld every designer here in nigeria and all sukirat tailors that gives it to us for even lesser….lmao one love

Loving the length and and fluidity of the dresses. Beautiful prints and colours, what’s not to love? #thumbs up. Whenever I look at a collection I always think of how I can translate the looks into something that will work for me and I think that’s where style comes into play, it’s how you choose to interpret the look, I prefer to view fashion laterally.

I miss the old Phunk Afrique. The fabrics are beautiful as usual. Hope she gets her mojo back or maybe she’s going with what is in trend these days which is long and flowy. I still love Phunk Afrique.

    October 28, 2011 at 9:10 am

i don’t think these designs work for pple with some flesh. these skinny models are ok. but not a typical African. though the designs are lovely.

Thank you very much bukioni, its easy to critique any work of art; criticism is good, however i think that creative criticism is better. Style is relative, so making harsh judgement about a designers designing prowess is totally uncalled for. Its either it works for you or it doesnt, shikena. its shallow to compare …

  26. Tiki

    October 28, 2011 at 11:38 am

I would soooooo wear all these!. Style edge is a bit blunt a.k.a. safe, but the fabulous fabrics make up for that!

This is boring… Just long dresses nothing to write home about. As Lade said clique of friends. Abeg!!! All these people in Nigeria call themselves designers now! Did they go to fashion school? Can they sketch a drawing or better yet can they actually cut and sew? No people just feel because they are fashionista’s they should become “fashion designers” And then the price you pay for this over 12k when you can have your tailor sew the exact same thing for half price or even less. Rubbish and Pounded yam lol
