“The Circle Revolution” Collection by GM4FM’s Gogo Majin

Published

 on

On Sunday 20th November 2011, Gogo Majin unveiled her latest collection “The Circle Revolution Collection” at the Civic Centre.

Here’s what Gogo Majin said about her collection “The circle revolution collection was inspired by an accessory that my mom has made and used for more than a decade on many of her designs. I also wanted to be a little rebellious by using fabrics like old cotton aso-oke alaari, and mixing with other fabrics of different strength to create cool clothes out of fabrics that normally would not look cool. I chose to mix Ankara and polka dotted chiffon and also mix Chantilly lace with aso- oke.  I also wanted to create classics like the  Ankara Chantilly columned shirt dress and the playful Ankara bow skirt. The collection is specially and distinctively designed for women who are revolutionary, fashion forward, upbeat, chic, edgy and classy and features clothes to suit practically every body type, with intricate detailing on bright , fresh youthful colors and precious stones for instant glamour”

I Guess naija is not creative enough. Its either they always copy the WEST in everything – OR – everybody and their grandmama is a fashion designer. I cant even tell the difference anymore. Not unique from the last. Mass ankara coordinates by everybody. Na wah oh. And its so funny when so called designers are featured and they come here and compliment themselves. Chei – u r to0 transparent sha.

wearable collection. designers in nigeria really need to regroup. i mean do something different. fashion is all about taking risks and pushing boundaries

I can actually see some effort here, there are a lot of nice everyday pieces that be worn straight out of the collection. Particularly love the pencil dresses, good job.

I love how normal & nice they are. the 1st pink outfit, and the green & white dress are lovely, their my faves because their inbetween a traditional and modern vibe, not too much is going on, that i could wear corporately. *shrugs* but i guess that’s the beauty in fashion & art, some love it, some don’t. Someone has to make pieces that are gorgeous and not OTT cause not every girl is a Carrie, some are Samantha’s & Charlotte’s.

better than her mum’s and sis, but too safe and too regular. Who does a show and repeats styles, in different colours. As said earlier, the designs are just there.
