Ara & 2Face Team Up To Revamp an Ebenezer Obey Classic with “Olomi”

“Olomi” is a touching remake to an Ebenezer Obey Classic. Ara who is more popularly known as the first female talking drum percussionist in Nigeria, called on 2Face to add that necessary spice to beat  produced by Samklef. The two felt at home and comfortable in this DJ Tee directed video . Enjoy!

Quite playful… I’m sure they had fun on set. Ara looked like she it was more than the video (she was pretty all over Tuface). *wink wink* I would have done worse…

I really like her. I think her voice is very sexy and I love that the plays the talking drum. Hot!
And this song and Yoruba (traditional) aspect of this video are quite refreshing. Ebenezer Obey is a legend!

I love Ara’s voice and this video is cute. I do hope they paid Obey the royalties for covering this song and/or asked permission or at least dotted the legal i’s and t’s before covering this song.

I think Ara/Tuface/Samklef could have done better than this. This is sub-standard compared to the classic “Olomi” from Chief Ebenezer Obey. I wonder if the so-called remix would be relevant anymore this time next year….(of course not) but the real classic “Olomi” remains a classic for life.

The song is really beautiful, however she should have eased up on the fake phonetics though.
