BN Celebrity Weddings: Tinsel Star Lizz Njagah weds her filmmaker beau Alexandros Konstantaras in Greece

You know her as “Tare Duke“, Telema Duke’s sister on M-Net’s popular soap opera series “Tinsel”. Her real name is Lizz Njagah and she is one of the leading rising film and TV stars in Kenya.

Lizz married her beau, filmmaker Alexandros Konstantaras in his home country, Greece on Sunday 10th June 2012. Alexandros is a successful filmmaker who co-owns Jitu Films, a production and distribution company based in Kenya. As they are both in the movie-making industry, it was a perfect fit when Alexandros proposed to Lizz on the set of “The Return of Lazarus”, a movie co-written and directed by the groom.

On the 10th of June 2012, it was a sunny and beautiful day in scenic Greece as Lizz and Alexandros said “I Do” at the Saint Alexandros Church. Lizz wore a pretty halterneck wedding dress and accessorized with an embellished hair band as she clutched her bouquet of red roses. Alexandros wore a grey suit with dashes of red from his red cummerbund and pocket square.

We love that her groom was waiting for her outside the church with her bouquet and then he handed it over to her! Super cute…

Lizz announced her happy day via Facebook by saying
(Lizz Njagah Konstantaras)” is now Mrs. K 🙂 thanking all the lovely people that made it to my husband Alexandros Konstantaras and my wedding.. It was lovely to host you, you made our day even more special. Thanking everyone for the lovely wishes.. A lovely beginning..

Aww Bliss!

Congrats to the couple! Photos below.

This is what a wedding should be like, small and intimate not the circus we usually have here where you don’t know 70% of the people in attendance.

    • TobechiD

      June 26, 2012 at 5:46 pm

It might surprise you, but your parents might be very welcoming. Failing that, it’s going to be you married to this guy forever and a day. Do the math.Pray

    • Tim

      June 26, 2012 at 6:55 pm

Hey follow your mind, Iam a Nigerian married to a Swedish lady and now we have to beautiful kids boy and girl. It doesn’t matter where you come from but love is all we need. Make your parent understand.

    • Naveah

      June 26, 2012 at 7:40 pm

What is there to be confused about? You said you love the guy like crazy, he wants to take it to another level which means he’s going to stop getting the milk for free and actually purchase the cow (not calling you a cow per se) but you are worried about your family? Abeg, na your family dey marry the bobo or na you? If they look beyond the color of his skin to see his heart, his character and how he treats you (I am assuming he adores you and treats you like a queen), if they themselves love you, they will not begrudge you your happiness. Marrying a fellow Nigerian is NO guarantee of happiness, been there , done that, I can write a book! The worst relationship I ever had in my life was with a fellow Nigerian and the best I have had has been with a white guy to whom I am hitched to for life! My entire family adores him, in fact, they will call and say hi quick and say “pass the phone” to – – – – – – – LOL

    • 9ja4life

      June 26, 2012 at 11:08 pm

If you love him, do it! I did and it’s the best decision of my life. Only you can decide if it’s worth it, I did get some slack from my family and all told them was, “we are already living together and we are coming home to respect the family” After that, they gave me peace and their blessings.

      June 29, 2012 at 3:58 pm

Do your thing, babes. Family’s consent is good but it’s your life after all said and done. So Follow your heart. Me is already wishing you all da best.

I guess Kenyan must not have the tradition of not marrying a man in his homeland unless you are from the same place. I know in Nigeria, no father or family is handing their daughter to a man in his territory, he has to marry her in her town. The wedding is SIMPLE, ELEGANT and there is a feeling of love emanating from the couple that is so great!

@ Ayo la – na true tok be dat o, my dear! You no nowwwww, ah Naija actresses right now are all gearing up to beat that Stephanie’s wedding o LOL. I was surprised Uche Jombo had a small destination wedding in PR, I thought she would have a blow out.

      If your father is alive..yes

    • Anoni

      July 22, 2012 at 11:23 pm

Wherever did you get that from? An Igbo man marries in his ‘territory’. While a Yoruba man marries in the bride’s ‘territory’. I’m talking of church wedding. Traditional marriage is same though..

  39. Say what?

    June 26, 2012 at 9:51 pm

Naveah, it is not a question of tradition, Kenyan’s are generally more open and less egotistical. The simplicity of the wedding says it all….

Finally! been scrolling thru the comments to see if some1 noticed too. I guess it eida a Greek or a Jewish thing.

    • Mark

      June 29, 2012 at 11:52 pm

Its an Eastern Orthodox tradition to have the wedding ring on the right hand indeed.

    • Bee

      June 29, 2012 at 9:33 pm

It is an Eastern European thang, not sure if it originated in the Orthodox church or not but it is the norm there as well as in some Scandinavian countries.

    • prasio

      July 3, 2012 at 8:09 pm
