Reigning as a beauty queen for a year is what most ladies dream of but reigning for 6 years is something that can happen only once in a lifetime – that’s the lucky story of ex-Miss Nigerian queen and headpiece designer Ene Lawani. In Exquisite Magazine’s Fashion Insider section, they spotlight the woman that made history in the Nigerian beauty world. Speaking on her long term reign as Miss Nigeria, Ene told Exquisite that “I reigned for 6 years despite the original plan being only for one year but due to some issues in the office, my term was exteneded. It was good for a couple of years, but it did set me back a little with some things like school for example, at some point though, I just started living my life like an average young woman”

On what led her into designing headpieces, Ene who said she was a naive and disillusioned 19 year old girl when she won the coveted title of Miss Nigeria told Funmi St. Matthew Daniel that ” I have always liked wearing things on my head from when I was a child! Also, I went to a missionary school where we used to have to cover our heads. Then becoming Miss Nigeria required that I would wear a lot of traditional outfits, and I always tied head ties differently  for each appearance”.

26 year old on-air-personality Toke Makinwa speaks in an exclusive 10 Minutes of Style interview with Exquisite Magazine’s Funmi St. Matthew Daniel at the Wheatbeaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos on her never ending sense of style . The gorgeous on air and red carpet sensation, who moved to London shortly after studying English Language at the University of Lagos, also spoke on her love for princesses.
