All about the Creative & Business Side of Fashion! Photos from Nigerian Designer Emmy Collins’ Lagos Fashion Workshop for Aspiring Designers
On Saturday 22nd December 2012, UK based Nigerian fashion designer Emmy Collins held a workshop for aspiring designers tagged Lagos Fashion Workshop at the Hillside Gardens Guest House, Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to Emmy Collins, the essence of this workshop was to instill into the aspiring and upcoming designers the importance of quality tailoring which is sacrosanct in fashion designing. Other segments of fashion such as merchandizing, branding, product placement, relationship with the press, PR, photography and so on were briefly visited by Emmy Collins during the course of the workshop.
Ace photographer Kelechi Amadi-Obi was also present at the workshop to sensitize the attendees on the essence of talent, passion and confidence in any creative industry be it photography, fashion or any career.
The next workshop will hold in the first quarter of 2013 and will be moved from city to city. For the announcement dates for the Calabar and Abuja editions, follow @EmmyCollins on Twitter.

Did you guys have a practical session with examples or was it just discussed. I’m asking because I’ve been toying with the idea of a summer school for designers where they can learn industry standard construction techniques as well as other aspects of design an I’m at the stage now where I’m trying to gauge if there is demand.
