Scenic Capetown indeed! This video cud have been shot in a studio in Ajegunle! Doesn’t blend much with the lyrics.

  13. aisha

    March 11, 2013 at 10:44 pm

I understand that they are trying not to use the usual concept of the typical Nigerian video but this video just does not go with the song

Nice tune, Tiwa and Don J did their thing. But the video cudda been easily shot in any nice house in lagos. Don’t have to go all the way to the cape coast to shoot a video in one room.

  21. Queen

    March 12, 2013 at 12:30 am

The beats are so Single ladies, even the arrangement of the song was so Beyonce “Get me bodied”, and one of her other songs like that I’m till trying to place. So this was her chance to do a dance video, like those two songs

    • Dare to be beautiful

      March 12, 2013 at 12:35 am

i thought i was the only one that noticed the similarity between her sons and beyonce .. even the arrangement…..hummmm

    March 12, 2013 at 12:39 am

This song and video are beyond terrible,

  23. mary

    March 12, 2013 at 12:43 am

i love tiwa but this song is just a copy of “brick and lace love ” mixed with single ladies……. go to you tube and listen to that song

    • bsky

      March 12, 2013 at 2:25 am

and nne, brick and lace stole it from Lumidee’s I’ll never leave (oh oooooo), so ur point exactly…

  25. Queen

    March 12, 2013 at 1:54 am

Ehn hen, I remembered the other 2 songs this also reminds me of. ‘De Javu’ and ‘Crazy in Love’.
This is how I would have done it, if I was the creative director for this video
Couple of drinks in me, feeling a little tipsy, turning on my sexy. What image do those words evoke? A CLUB. They should have used a night club scene, put her in a glittery short LBD, with killer heels, all the works. Basically she looks hot. This virginal white dress on the floor of a house. How is that couple of drinks in me, feeling tipsy, turning on sexy. BBM Confused face smiley
She’s feeling sexy shey, so Don Jazzy, in all his Don self will be in the corner of the club watching her (the lyrics say, I know you cant wait to touch me) and she would have been giving him side eye anyway, so na with Dutch Courage, she’ll sashay towards him, tempt him a bit, then pick the mic, go on stage and start dancing. She’ll have backup dancers, but the camera angle will be will showcase her more. The lyrics say, I just want you to watch me sth sth hips, the screw your mind bit sha, she’ll continue dancing, all to make the guy want her more abi. I think I could hear her singing ka jo oooo, emi a jooooo. So she should be dancing, not writhing on the floor.
Then she’ll advance towards him again, singing don’t leave without my heart, meaning, I know you want me, I want you too, but not just for sex, so she’s coming close to tell him all that, and she’ll go back to dancing. She is singing, sth sth, started on the floor, she would have done some dance moves kneeling or squatting or sth
Since the beat and arrangement kuku copied Beyonce, they may as well have given Don Jazzy the Jay Z scene in ‘Upgrade You’. Let him come close to her, and look at her as if he’s saying I know you are flirting with me, but babe, I’m the Donnnnn, I’m still in charge, so dance away jare, I am enjoying it, and she’d be dancing away, wrapping herself around him all PG of course, but at least they are telling a story. The part where Don Jazzy says its a private show, the scene will change to her dancing just for him (no backup dancers) in a private room or sth, with her shoes off (as the lyrics say – so why is she wiping his shoes instead. Don Jazzy is saying na you get your body, oya bere sin jo o. Shey they are in a private room, she will bere si ma jo dada for him. He sang that line 3 TIMES, and there was no Tiwa dancing, just Don Jazzy sitting in a chair. Who is he telling bere si n jo ooooo BBM Confused Smiley
Then the scene will change back to the club scene with backup dancers, and both of them will be dancing together albeit Don Jazzy will look clumsy, but it would have been fun. This Tiwa’s Casper the friendly ghost scene ehn. I tire. The scene changes back to Don Jazzy sitting, this time centre stage not in the corner like before, and he is signing to her, if you really want my heart, prove to me that you want it, show me what you are going to do with it and she’s on stage dancing like she’s auditioning for X Factor and he is Simon Cowell
I just want to rip this dress (she’ll be another outfit), she’ll now be dancing right beside him, they’l slow mo it a bit, then fasten her moves where she is singing baby, baby, baby, baby, give me some more more.
Where she sang grab your keys, let us finish what we started on the floor, the scene will be her leaving the club with him, they are getting into his car and driving off.
This video is just creatively lazy

  29. No way!

    March 12, 2013 at 6:35 am

The production quality is superb but the video is absolutely boring n bland. Was tired of seeing Tiwa and DJ through out. Tiwa didn’t seem comfortable in her attire esp in her shoes n this is no video for a diva. We need more class n action.

  30. Demmy

    March 12, 2013 at 6:39 am

Tiwa looked so pretty in the video. I was expecting a lot of dancing but anyhow. I still love the song though 🙂

    March 12, 2013 at 7:30 am

I’m quite underwhelmed. Editing poor, lacking top music video qualities e.g. real close-ups, short transitions, etc.

Tiwa should ask the director for a refund cuz Cape Town sure aint cheap.

    • Blossom

      March 12, 2013 at 7:31 am

By the way, the video concept feels so random.

    March 12, 2013 at 8:42 am

With all the bad comments, i really expected a wack video, but it was nice. quite classy…maybe not a 100% job well done, but its still on point sha.

  34. adenike

    March 12, 2013 at 8:55 am

Note to self: Never read comments before watching a video.

It’s a very creative video, well edited and nice choice of costumes. This is a very clean video. I actually love it and I give it an 8/10.

PS: There’s no rule that says videos MUST be scripted along with the lyrics.

I think Nigerians are very myopic and prefer the regular video with girls showing boobs and shaking ass. Tiwa and Don J, this is a very goood job. please dont blend in with the others. its these same people that would still attack you if u had one of those. mscheww

    March 12, 2013 at 11:28 am

all the future directors in the building i hail o!!!!!!!!!!! the entire song is flirty, teasing, playfully sexual and a lil bit of a Dom (dominant character)….for those that read E.L James trilogy the costumes above are random NOT! It has its own significance. while the video lacked energy which shud have been a core theme for it, the video is a nice one. and yes i do agree that they neednt go all the way to cape town to shoot the vid. aunty that said they shud shoot the vid in a club, if she had, the 1st comment on ere wud prolly be ‘must they sexualize evrytn?’ take banana was shot in a club, dem vex! sister caro, not a club but had a club feel, dem vex. now dem shoot inside ause una vex! na church una want bah? im gettn y’all.
note to self: watch a vid, b4 reading its coments.

This song has been out since 2011,I don’t know why she’s just shooting a video now.She did it with Ife Wa Gbona and it worked but with more and more female artists coming out she needs to step up her game, meaning she needs to release songs and a video a few months after NOT A YEAR AFTER.

  48. konnie

    March 12, 2013 at 4:06 pm

Looks like they had fun shooting this. Love you Tiwa. good luck with your career. Nice vid. Different

  49. Ceci

    March 12, 2013 at 4:30 pm

This video definitely should have had a proper dance segment. CEO dancers would have (actually have – check them out of youtube) done it justice. It was rather boring, costumes didn’t do anything for Tiwa either. Just saying. Love you Tiwa x

  50. Beebee

    March 12, 2013 at 4:35 pm

Lumidee + Brick and Lace + Amerie’s This One thing + Beyonce’s Get me bodied + Single Ladies = Without my heart. Una for kuku complete the equation, do correct dance video na. You can’t claim I’m trying to be original and do something different, cos the fact that this song is already a mash up of other songs, throws the originality idea of of the window into hypocrisy land. He who must come to equity must come with clean hands, so she should have gone all the way. This song came out in Dec 2011 I think, so in all that time, she couldn’t get a choreographer like Kaffie or those that work with PSquare, to do one kind dance routine for her. Its this “Casper the friendly ghost” video plus Sele moves that she did. Ok o. BN, abeg shey Damilare always has the deets on the designers of every Tiwa outift, that means you must have her number on speed dial. Please send her Queen’s comment. Its not too late for a re shoot. She doesnt even need to go back to Cape Town. She can redo it in Lagos. #Queen, your idea of Don Jazzy dancing with her, would have soooo worked. I can’t even get the image out of my head. Oya bere sin jo, even me I am imagining dancing with Don Jazzy.

Na wa o! What’s up with all these comments from creative/video director wanna-bes! Aahn dis was a very clean video with nice costumes! Although I see a mixture of beyonce/jay-z’s upgrade you and get me bodied but other than that the video was done well. U can’t even please ppl won sha ma ri so #hiss

    • Blake

      March 12, 2013 at 9:06 pm

It’s not that the video is bad: The video on its own is good, the lyrics and the beat on its own is good. The combination of this particular video and the lyrics and beat of the song is a disaster. There were so many times in the song where it said “bere si jo” and there was no form of dancing at all. It doesn’t mesh well together. This video would have gone perfectly well with a ballad pop kind of song.

  55. Temtem
