What is wrong with being, “blaaaaackk”? Smh….I thought AAs in the states were the only ones who are color struck! Sad story…

@Just saying. I’m surprised that in this 2013 people are still commenting on the color of one’s skin. According to you she is so black and by your tone I can tell that you are suggesting that it makes her unattractive. No wonder Nigeria has the highest rate of bleaching in Africa because many do not appreciate the beautiful chocolate skin they were born with. Instead they want to be as light skin as possible because they have been brainwashed to think that white is beautiful. Please get it into your head that white does not automatically mean that you’re pretty. Alek Wek is beautiful in her own right so are the other models featured in this photo shoot.

You are saying that because you don’t know that Sudanese women are beautifully tall and black which qualifies her to be a model. Let’s continue to promote our black skin instead of putting it down.

Alek Wek has been more of a high fashion model than the rest of those girls who are only known because of victoria secret. I don’t know why the article makes it feel like she is now joining their league when she’s been on top for over 1o years…

@ just saying, not that attractive? Lets talk truth now Haba? Not attractive at all!!! I guess the message here is grace! Do you! You will get there not because you’re most deserving but perhaps cause of hardwork, good character, some luck and sheer grace. ANYBODY CAN BE GREAT.

@obongawan mbok se se yin iko o!
its unbelievable that in Nigeria skin color is an issue of contention. How stupid @just saying….. im sorry for you….. Im sure you are a big upholder of “being yourself”, or that everyone is beautiful.
You are entitled to your opinion but i must say its a very sorry and uneducated comment.

@ justsaying. U must be one of those bleached Naija girls that think black/brown skin is dirty and forbidden. You all have serious identity issues, no confidence or self esteem whatsoever. Get help soonest. You need it. Long hiss……….

Na wah oh, just one black model in the shoot! I’m glad they used Alek, but they could have done better and used a couple more black models to show the range of black skin tones, but I guess it’s like Channel Iman said they would tell her, “We already found one black girl. We don’t need you anymore.”

Bella Naija please post my comment oh!

At least Alek proudly accepts her skin tone.
All these girls (can’t stand men that bleach)
Who are bleaching age not so gracefully
And there’s this body odor associated with
People that bleach. Nigerians& CONGOLESE bleach
    More than anyone else.

4m @just saying comment,I think her pspective is that even though she’s black, the grace on her life is so great for her to reach a top model status. Pls dont take her comment otherwise. But I think its her black that made her outstand evry other white model and UNIQUE. But I personally think they used only one black lady to look outstanding.

As much as I love Alek Wek she doesnt strike me as the type
of model to be used for seductive bikini shots… I see her as a
muse, avant-garde, high fashion kinda model. But then again the
article did say supermodels I guess.
