David TlaleIf there is one thing David Tlale knows how to do apart from make amazing clothes & gathering fashionable people together; is put on a show.

Yesterday, at his 10th Anniversary showcase for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Africa 2013, David gathered fashion enthusiasts, fashion buyers, designers and media members for the unveiling of his collection for MBFWAfrica 2013 in collaboration with Vlisco.

The event took place at a Rovos Rail train station where seats and press packs awaited guests eager to see what David had in store for them this time. After a brief advert by the venue hosts, Rovos Rail, the show began with a beautiful ballet presentation by Joburg Ballet. They were dressed by David in Vlisco fabric.Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Africa 2013 David Tlale - BellaNaija - October 2013 (3) Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Africa 2013 David Tlale - BellaNaija - October 2013 (4) Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Africa 2013 David Tlale - BellaNaija - October 2013 (5)

And after the ballet, came the main show. With 3 sets of collections David Tlale delivered an exciting show which was met with a standing ovation from everyone in the crowd.

The models walked down the runway, with an intermission from the Joburg Ballet in another set of David Tlale designed clothes and the show ended with David walking the runway to a roaring applause.

My Verdict

The show was absolutely exciting. I loved the models and the fact that he presented so much for everyone. Each set of clothes was the,ed with a burst of colour and now I can say that I am an advocate for the David Tlale brand.

David is obviously emerging to become Africa’s Viktor
& Rolf and Dolce & Gabbana cross-child. The
collection screams early stage of what could be an amazing couture
collection. Well done! But the skirt… seriously?!
