Taking a “Retrograde” Step in Fashion – Suchile presents its Spring/Summer 2014 Collection Lookbook

Suchille Spring Summer 2013 Collection - BellaNaija - December2013006Don’t you just love location lookbooks? Taking a cue from the glam in the 50s, Nigerian designer Priscilia Suchi Best, Creative Director of Suchile, presents her Spring/Summer 2014 collection – “Retrograde“. This collection is all about taking a step back in time in fashion for the design label as well as with the creativity of the pieces.

This collection, which is a favourite of the designer, is for the bold and confident woman who is not afraid to make a statement with her style. According to the designer “we went a little off our aesthetics of designing pieces that are simple & innocent in form, but daring enough to awaken the female body, to when fashion itself was everything but simple“.

The pieces are cut in simple silhouettes made from lace and silk in black, blue, red, yellow, champagne and red & white polka dot hues. I especially love the contrast between the pieces and the background.

Check out the collection and don’t forget to let us know what you think.

I’ve seen most stylist who don’t follow what their specific collection is called. These pieces from Suchille without looking at the tag you’d just know its retrograde (old skool). Let us call a spade a spade, d designer say na old skool and na old skool we see. Good job Suchi.

And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with these “simple” designs either! Abi you want to see all those canoe and parachute designs only meant for runway that no one can ever wear..Abeg let’s call “a spade a spade”!

@Let It Flow- Do you even know the meaning of the word “retro or vintage” abi your ancestors house in the 60s fine pass this one?? Stupid hater. Back to what brought me here jor. Nice everything. Only error is that models too skinny otherwise perfect work. All pieces are wearable for me… Nice work. #teamwork
