Happy New Year my beautiful BN Beauty Gals! For the #NewYearNewMe fam, how are you enjoying the makeover, and for our #I’mPrefectTheWayIAm fam, go get ’em.
Let’s get into it shall we.
So BN Beauty followers, for the new year we will be hitting you with some new features and you know all your contributions and comments are important to us. So before we get into the deal for today, don’t forget to drop any suggestions you may have for new features you would like to see or just things you would like included. You guys rock.
So down to why we are here. The trends are rolling in and we wouldn’t be doing our job if we didn’t let you in on some of the hot trends to watch out for this year. So here they are; 3 trends that you may want to start practicing before our Events This Weekend gets here.
When I first heard it was going to be huge I was a bit skeptical, but I tried it and loved it.
It’s basically putting on your normal eyeshadow then adding a small amount of gloss on it to give it that extra greasy effect. But what is really going to hit the makeup scene this year according to one of the 5 MAC Senior Directors, Balthazar Gonzalez is black glossy eyeshadow. To get this all you have to do is dab on your favourite black eyeshadow, and apply a hint of gloss.
Please be sure to use light lip gloss, like texture gloss, that is not too thick so you don’t end up with your eyes glued open.
Great news everyone, the red lip will still be very relevant for 2014. But not just any red, this year calls for the beautiful richness that can only be found in currant red. Deep, a little dark and the ability to make a rose petal blush – those are the qualities you want on your lip for this season.
A little side note, when using the red lip please remember to keep it within the natural outline of your lips and watch the intensity of the red.
Another trend you will definitely be seeing this year is the nude trend. Do not make it too dark that it becomes Gothic but just enough that it comes off as ghostly beauty (you know, the sort Vampires have. Just kidding)
This look is a bit light with deep browns and beige as its undertones. This is minimalist makeup to accentuate the natural beauty without it being overwhelming.
So, that is just the tip of the iceberg. We have got more where that came from. Be sure to let us know what trend you will be looking forward to in 2014 and which prayer the god of makeup & beauty should take on as a special request.
Thank you for all your love and support through out 2013, we couldn’t have done it without you. For those who will still be on leave till the later part of 2014, lucky you. And for the rest of us, see you on the streets of Lagos.
Have a beautiful beginning of an amazing year.
Love, the BN Beauty Team.
