Ethiopian beauty, Liya Kebede took over last year as she was one of the most popular faces on magazines, ad campaigns and catwalks. Now she has returned to give us another dose of poised poses, sultry looks and sold out magazine covers for Vogue Italia’s January 2014 issue.

In this issue, the model is dressed in snakeskin, leather and mixed prints in an urban diner setting as the background. The images give off an urban and gritty feel that Liya turns into haute scenery.
Check it out.

I am not sure I like how she looks. I am all for editorial, grungy looks but these photos makes liya look like a druggie, I am sorry. 🙁 All the same, she looks like she’s still in the game to win! 🙂

I love Liya. She was a finalist in face of africa (d year Oluchi won), & was one of d faces of Estee Lauder for a
long time, don’t know if she still is, she’s a mother & a great african woman. Kudos to her

Darling, that is not correct. Liya was already strutting runways in Paris before Oluchi won Face of Africa. She never even competed. She was discovered in France.

One of the most down to earth ladies in a business where most of them have their noses stuck up in the air!

Why do “high fashion” models have to look like they are starving boy? Very sad

Albedo is absolutely right , Liya competed in FOA, 1st edition but didn’t make it past East African leg. Also she made it big in fashion way after Oluchi, I think Gucci 2001 s/s was her breakout show. She struggled for a while b4 making it big.
