Job Seekers, This One Is For You! Check Out The Jobberman List of Top Ten Companies To Work For in Nigeria
Are you a job seeker fresh out of school? Or are you looking for a more favourable place of employment?
Jobberman.com has drawn up a list of top companies to work in Niferia.
“Jobberman.com conducted more than 10,000 surveys of employees in Nigeria. Over 5000 companies were submitted by 10,482 respondents (experienced, entry level and exec management). 89% of those who filled the survey were gainfully employed. Only companies with at least 100 full-time permanent employees were considered.
The index was calculated by getting a weighted average of each recipient’s top 5 companies and dream company to work for. Recipients also selected workplace metrics that mattered to them in making these choices – Company Culture, Salary, Non-Salary Benefits, proximity to Company Location, Prestige/Company Brand, Management Integrity and commitment to staff welfare.“
Based on these criterion, they have come up with this list of top ten companies.
1. Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) {Oil & Gas}
2. Chevron {Oil & Gas}
3. Mobil {Oil & Gas}
4. NNPC {Oil & Gas}
5. MTN {Telecommunication}
6. Nestlé Nigeria {FMCG}
7. Federal Government Civil Service {Government}
8. Total {Oil & Gas}
9. Dangote {FMCG}
10. Nigeria Breweries {FMCG}

Dangote should not be on the list. Their staff welfare is
nothing to write home about. Go to their abj office in central
business area. It’s a disgrace.

IOCs, Dangote, the government *YAWNNNNNN* There are far
better companies doing innovative things and that actually care
about their employees. This list is vey cliche bella naija, who
paid you?

Notice that there are no banks on the list. When you think about the ridiculous targets they set for their employees, poor of work life balance and the lack of job security, I am not surprised at all. I am yet to see a banker in Nigeria who is super happy about their job. Correct me if I am wrong.

LASTMA should be on the list…you get to extort Nigerians for free. And when it rains you get a day off also…that’s like 15 week vacation!
Shuga
January 26, 2014 at 10:01 pm
This is very untrue. LASTMA officials are some of the most hardworking officials I have seen. They are there directing crazy Lagos traffic in the rain AND sun. Monday to Sunday. And what is it about extortion. Are you obeying the traffic laws? If there is no reason to stop you, they won’t. They are more concerned with ensuring a free flow of traffic. No need to tell tall tales about those hardworking men and women.

January 27, 2014 at 11:52 am
I agree. LASTMA is not the Nigeria Police Force, Ofili. There are a few bad eggs, but not enough to taint the entire agency. I actually planned to give out bottles of water or whatever necessary to them because in the rain or sun, they are there working till late hours of the night…they’re an improvement over traffic wardens and NPF employees.

Dangote before Unilever, Cadbury and P& G ?where is Fresland. Anyone in FMCG will be very happy to work for the company that manufactures Peak… This is definitely a sold out list… Dangote welfare package is nothing to write home about. UAC is still better than Dangote.
Dear Job seeker, if you are looking for a good survey? Check out Great place to work.
Mama Mia!!!
January 26, 2014 at 12:25 pm
Hmmmm, you all should sit there, Federal Government is one
of the best places to work in, You have time for yourself and you
are able to run a business without any hitch, It’s also really hard
to get fired plus, you get allowances for most things. Federal govt
is just best for married women especially, I think. Dangote and MTN
is a No for me… There is also UN,ECOWAS and Embassies nice places
to work in as well, I guess for CBN is more about their
allowances,packages and Vacations…

Finally I agree jobber man is a fluke……what the yardstick for making this list? so clitche who does not know dat ioc pays well yet there are indegenous companies with goog package and excellent welfare and career growth but then what is d aim of this list as most youth will leave the little days of good beginning to chase shadows call big company. Dangotes case is like nigeria church leaders being richest from the one of the poorest does not change anything obviously people already know what up with staff of dangote……

Dilemma of truce is to join the French Republic.
Far called, our navies melt away on dune and headland sinks the fire. Lo, all our pump of yesterday is on with Nineveh and Tyre!
This immersion in the imperial Parliament before the end of the 18th century had been destroyed during the vestiges of independent Irish Political institutions.
