This video is so hilarious. What would have made it epic though was if Funke (his mum) was home. That would have been freaking epic. Pure drama. His dad is so hilarious, typical nigerian father, but a good man all the same @ we would take care of her. That touched me. The boy got so scared of getting his ass whooped at the end. Silly child. Lol.

LMAO at 14yrs Jesus is Lord. “ko ni da fun awon ara ile iya e” — Just reminds me of my grandmother she used to curse like crazy and still does occasionally.

My picks of comedy-gold lines from his dad:-
    “Funke, Funke!”
    “Apostle will hear of this!”
“Do you know what this means? No GCSE, no A-levels, you’re going to end up in MacDonalds”
“How old is she? 14? Jesus is Lord!”
“I told your mum to let you study in Nigeria… You’re going to Nigeria first-class tomorrow” [no doubt he meant first flight; otherwise, that didn’t sound like a punishmey]

And the grand finale – “who did you say is pregnant? Who did you say is pregnant??!!” while brandishing serious koboko… Chei, that was a good laugh

Hahahaha, it would have been epic to see his dad start beating him, he had better watch out when he’s his father’s age and his children are teenagers.

Apart from the humor, two things stuck out for me in this video:
    1. When he said he suffered for his children…we often take it for granted how our African parents give up so much just to give us a good life.
    2. When he said they’d take care of the child…the responsibility that the older generation shows with such things, and a mark of a good man/father! 🙂

    February 17, 2014 at 4:17 pm

While I did find it absolutely hilarious… It did feel a tad scripted.

Anyway… the funniest bits for me… The way dude first paused and shouted “Funke Funkeee”. Like… Only my ear cannot hear what YOUR son is telling me.

Then the part that KILLED me… “Ko ni da f’awon ara’le iya e”.

    • Bambi

      February 17, 2014 at 4:29 pm

Watching his other videos i am certain that this was scripted ……….funny nevertheless

    • Nosey

      February 17, 2014 at 5:59 pm

I thought so too. As much as it is funny, it does seem rather ‘staged’.

    • whocares

      February 17, 2014 at 7:33 pm

I dont know. the relief that as evident in his laughter at the end. It seems like the way a parent would react to the news. A father anyways. Calmly sit down whilst throwing death threats your way, and when they have all the facts proceed to kill you. And as for a father coming down, he would. My cousins could ask my uncle or aunt to come if they have something to discuss with them. It is not a capital offence to demand your parents attention in that way.. either way it is a damned good joke! My friend sent it to me last night. I didn’t know it had gotten to BN too. lol

It’s scripted jor, the dad’s acting was bad.

    • Chic

      February 17, 2014 at 5:44 pm

THANK YOU!!! That is what I have been saying all along and people keep shutting me down. Very funny scripted prank though. First of all the African parent with that kind of reaction would not come down the stairs when the child calls it is you the child to go looking for Papa to tell him what you want to tell him that was my first instinct that it was scripted.

    • chi baby

      February 17, 2014 at 6:59 pm

Thank you again! I thought I was the only one that thought it weird, that the son would sit down and call his father to come from upstairs. That alone is enough to land you a slap!

    • Jane Smith

      February 17, 2014 at 8:20 pm

THANK YOU! I even got my mum (Yoruba) to watch the video and she said the Dad spoiled it. The reaction wasn’t organic at all. They definitely organised this. You can even see the other video he has with his Dad which shows that his Dad is “cool” like that. Despite that I think it was very entertaining.

they are both acting but it was still funny.

  31. Curiousjill

    February 17, 2014 at 6:08 pm

    This was scripted

  32. Aibee

    February 17, 2014 at 6:38 pm

Lol! If it was either my dad or mum, I’d still get the ass whopping for daring to prank them. Other than that, his reaction was exactly how my mum would have reacted, with big abaras instead of the broom. My dad? He’d probably have called my mum and told her you see your children?

  35. InfoNubia.com

    February 17, 2014 at 10:04 pm

While it’s a funny video, I think it was staged. The father was in an older video he posted on YouTube. Also, the man was translating his Yoruba to English. Nonetheless, it was hilarious!

  36. smiley

    February 17, 2014 at 11:28 pm

i dnt think it was scripted….
to all u peeps who don’t knw hw it is in Jand or Yankee; u can actually call ur parents to come downstairs… its nt a big deal for them
    extremely hilarious video
didn’t knw it was on BN

    • Miss_Flygerian

      February 18, 2014 at 12:20 pm

Thank you o. I wasn’t even raised in Yankee or Jand but my parents and I have always been free with each other. Whenever my parents are close by like the father was in this video, I just kindly ask them to come over, that I need to talk to them. It’s not like the father was chilling in his room when the son called him. I don’t believe this was scripted.

  43. Dee pee

    February 18, 2014 at 4:05 pm

@crofty,thank u o…i strongly doubt if it was staged… its too real abeg..
