If i hear another person calling for Jesus again I will go nuts. When has that ever helped without concrete action by people themselves

      May 2, 2014 at 4:58 am

God bless you for that statement @Lanre! I keep saying it, we need to act because God has already given us the strength and wisdom to demand better of our so-called leaders! Jonathan cancelled FEC meeting this week, to mourn the VP’s dead brother, yet our children are being married off for $12 and people are losing loved ones to bomb blasts that only occur in less lavish vicinities!

    • Lanre

      May 2, 2014 at 5:04 pm

Don’t worry, he has called another “extraordinary meeting”. As if the one from two weeks ago was not ordinary enough. Another bomb blast and it will be super extraordinary! That man’s incompetence knows no bounds.

It is easy to blame the president!! It is naive and myopically close-minded to think that our president knows about the local sponsors of boko haram. I am of the view that there may be sympatizers of the murders but doesn’t make them sponsors. There is only one country in the world that sponsors global terrorism! Nigeria is a super military power in the region, what needs to be done is to deploy tens of thousands of security forces well armed to flood the whole of the north east of Nigeria and comb through the borders. If the neighburing country refuse to co-operate, they are unlikely to start a war with Nigeria.
The government should not dialogue or negotiate with psychopathic murders whose ethos is destruction and death.

Who ever you are, just hold it! Nigeria is a very naive country. All that is being played with human lives is purely political. Won’t even go deep into it cause it’s clear you are ironically myopic as you claim we are. So sad that you seem not to understand the plight of your own people. But you see this God, he never sleeps only a day will it take for the owner…

    • AA

      May 2, 2014 at 1:29 am

Yes you do blame the President. He ran for the job, he promised security and a better Nigeria. He should man up and stop trying to shift the blame. He is the Chief Security Officer of the country, he is to blame and will continue to blame him until he does the right thing and ensures our safety.

Can GEJ put his hand on his chest in all honesty and say he does not know the Nigerians sponsoring boko haram. There should be no sacred cows! What exactly is he afraid of? Is he trading his quest for another term in office for the safety of Nigerians? Is that why he can’t act to bring these evil criminals to book? If that is the case, he is not fit to rule! And at this rate, there will be no body to rule over.

Circa 200+ girls kidnapped and allegedly sold into slavery, groves of young people dying in a stampede all while answering an ad for a job with the immigration service, millions are at risk of catching the ebola virus which is apparently likely to show up in Nigeria soon, bomb blasts everyday, oil theft every other day, peaceful protesters being shot at, lawmakers bypassing the ills and passing laws that do not affect the lives of average Nigerians, $20bn disappearing from the state coffers and no one is indicted, chaos being the order of the day in the Nigerian Civil Service. Nigeria, I really want to believe in you, I do. Please give me a reason to. Right now, I’m being shown more than enough reasons not to. Please, for the sake of my unborn children and grandchildren, give me a reason to believe in you. Convince us and the world that you are not a failed state. PLEASE!!!!!!!

I swear Good luck Jonathan must be the most INCOMPETENT ,USELESS & LAZY president /person ever!!!! Look at the state of the country, Killings up and down, mass kidnappings, bomb blasts, terrorist attacks…the list sadly goes on. What is he doing you ask??? (a) Not a thing (b) Not a God damn thing and (c) Not a God damn m*therf***king thing…Oh wait I forgot (d) partying with other useless politicians the day after bomb blast in Nyanya bus garage.

I sense an uprising in the future. People are already sick of how the country is being run, now its just a matter of time before some rebel group is formed and they overthrow the government, look at the state of the Central African Republic, that is where Nigeria is heading if GEJ doesnt take action soon.

Nigeria is known as the giant of Africa, well it looks like Boko Haram is the David that will knock us down.I would say SMH but ive been shaking it so much these days at the tragic stories that keep happening that I think if i shook it again Id actually break my neck.

    • niki

      May 1, 2014 at 10:29 pm

But what has that got to do with anything. Humans are the one causing this and i know for sure they are not well so searching their ‘hearts’ for answers is unlikely to help as they dont even have one

I hate to say it, but I think Nigeria will be like Iraq in about 10 years. It will be unstable, meanwhile outsiders will take advantage of the instability to get cheap oil.
Leaders need to be held accountable. I don’t know what that means practically… but there needs to be away for leaders to fear the people they supposedly serve.

Even Jewish people know how to fight when they are being threatened. They may call on Yaweh, and then they fight back. We need leadership that cares about security

I am completely speechless. for these people to strike in the same place, that shows helpless are defences are. a bomb blast happened, that location should be seriously secure for at least a month. why why why…. our defence being helpless is an understatement at this point. no security, no light, bad education, bad roads, umemployment is crazily high, no care to children with disability… need i say more. i feel so disgusted and each and every of this pot belly politicians should do as well. if you know your father is a politician, i suggest you dis own him or her at this point because they have so much blood on their hands, hence it is going to be YOU or our children’s children to suffer the wrath of God

It is not about Jonathan, the next president would not be better. If professing Christians cleared their minds of the prosperity and riches and other tickle stories told by religious leaders, they could quiet the noise and actually listen to the bibles message. More than 2000 years ago, the bible foretold a coming time when conditions would really get bad (Matthew 24:3-8, 2tim 3: 1-5). According to those scriptures, these bad conditions would signify the end of this system of things. The ruler of the world, Satan the devil (John 14:30, 1John 5:19) realizes he has a very short time before Judgement is passed on him and so he causes as much trouble as he can (Rev 12:12). Until God establishes He’s own kingdom and destroys these our government (Dan 2:44), things are only going to get worse. No the next president would not be better. On the positive side, these events also imply that God will take action shortly. More so, He understands the pains we would feel and thus he promised to “wipe out every tear from our eyes” (Rev 21:4).

@nasir elrufai Atiku and the likes, GOD punish all of you. Yall sponsor islamic terrorist and will be the first to condemn any act of terrorism all because you all want to de stabilise jonathan’s regime. Babangida knew wat he was doing when he moved the capital territory to abuja. Notherners are power drunk people they want to continue to rule nigeria andpeople in the niger delta are not wise, they only know how to shout. Enough of the federal revenue, enough of northerners and muslim extremist holding kep positions in Nigeria, enough of the prototypes of yerima in government. Northern nigeria should stand on its own. We don’t want federalism again. There is a lot to be said about federalism and the northern part of nigeria, they are the ones to be seeking the peace of Nigeria because they do not contribute to the GDP of nigeria, did I hear u scream? Proceeds from agriculture goes to pockets of individual agricultural investor un like oil from the south that goes to the federal revenue and used in developing the north through rural scheme programmes. As for you military generals selling ammunition to BH thereby making a lot of money, GOD will judge you. Jonathan is a president, a good one but he is not powerful.

It is very easy for people to sit down and start raining curses at our president. We should all remember that he has flesh and blood and his not a god to wipe out the problems we have in Nigeria. Yes,his our president and that is his responsibility but lets not forget that we have all fallen short of God’s glory cus we are humans so instead of all these negative prayers lets pray to God to help our president and make him a better leader .God bless u all as we continue to grow in love for one another
