Parents of the over 200 abducted Borno school girls, are being urged by police authorities to come forward with photographs of their daughters.

Police authorities in Borno told BBC that they made this request because they need to confirm exactly which students are missing, because school records were been burnt during the raid.

The headmistress of the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, where the girls were abducted from, is reportedly working with police, by trying to compile a list of names of students who were taking their final year exams. However, her task hasn’t been an easy one, as students from surrounding schools had also come to the school to take their exams, as it was deemed one of the safest areas in the state.

Another factor said to be hampering investigations is that many parents of the girls who allegedly escaped their captors may not have reported their return to police.
