Archbishop of Canterbury visits Jonathan, Prays for Nigeria
President Goodluck Jonathan has held a meeting with Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby and the head of the Anglican Communion.
Welby arrived at the Presidential Villa with the Primate of the Church of Nigerian, Anglican Communion, Nicholas Oko, as well as the secretary of the Christian Pilgrims Board, John Kennedy Opara.
He told reporters that his reason for visit was to hold a prayer session with the president over the recent events in Nigeria, including the bombings in Jos and terror attacks in other north eastern states.
Welby also condemned the abduction of the Chibok girls, and expressed hopes that Nigeria would pull through this difficult time.
