Gunmen Abduct Bayelsa Commissioner’s Mother & Call for his Resignation
Six armed men have abducted the mother of Bayelsa State Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Furuebi Akene.
The 78-year-old woman, Patimi Akene was taken from her home located in the Fonibiri Community of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the State on Saturday afternoon, Premium Times reports.
Furuebi told reporters that the culprits contacted him on Sunday evening and demanded his resignation from the cabinet of Governor Seriake Dickson.
“I think the people interested in my job as commissioner in the state are the ones behind the abduction of my mother,” he said.
