This is so true! I even heard a very popular on-air personality asked for a Rolex once from an upcoming artist! Dude has not even dropped an album! How on earth will he afford a Rolex?

This common practise all over the world. If you read up music history, you will find that out. I am not saying its good or bad but that it’s just common practise.

Brown envelop journalism or personalities. What should we call this. then you want to question the integrity of politicians. You are much worse. Common practice for some people and it doesn’t make it right

This is my problem with these artists. How about you name names? You’re scared ba? You clowns know the ones who charge you on a regular yet y’all foolishly hobnob with them every now and then and some of you even include their names in your songs (famzing eh?). You know the stations on the island that charge you big time but you’re too chicken to mention names. You know the big booty OAP that charges upcoming cats 250k upwards yet you people idolise them. How about Music TV Stations that charge you from 300k upwards to air your music video – Soundcity I’m staring at you. Pls Nomoreloss, Etcetra an co, let me know when you’re ready to print names. Till then, please go and record a good song. X

I have never heard of musicians paying radio dj’s to play their songs. Only in Nigeria!
In other parts of the world (Europe/America/North America/Australia/Asia) radio stations pay royalties to musicians for playing their songs. Is there any law protecting artist material in Nigeria?

It it high time the artistes know their right, if you are doing music- you also have the right to know the music business part of it. Coson need to have software that will monitor radio station, Royalties must be payed by radio station.

it is not nice at all, if those OAPs actually collect money from upcoming artists, but then i am not surprised, the corruption in this country is not just by the government officials, but everywhere.
