My Style Is…
clean, minimal, edgy and feminine. Most importantly I have to be comfortable. It’s interesting because my style depends on my mood and how I feel.
Where Style Meets Personality
My personality is fun, energetic and dynamic. Naturally, my style is a function of my personality. I love colours as much as I love neutrals, I feel like this is a reflection of how dynamic my personality is as well.
Where I Shop Till I Drop
When it comes to shopping, I’m a typical girly girl – I really love shopping and acquiring new things. From the process of selecting clothes in stores to trying them on. Yes, I try on everything in the store before I make a purchase (this doesn’t apply to online shopping though). You’ll typically find me shopping at Zara, Topshop, Asos, Misguided, outlets like Bicester Village and Vintage Stores. I also love Nigerian designers like Iamisigo, Grey, Rebahia, and Tzar.
To be honest I am a shopaholic so I do not have any strict rules. So I basically just buy what I like and when I feel I have gone overboard then I control myself.
My Tresses & Makeup Look
Lately I’ve been drawn to short hair so I cut my natural hair into a pixie cut because I think it’s edgy. I’ve been rocking this look for most of the year and I don’t think I’m letting it go soon.
As a makeup artist most people think I am adventurous when it comes to makeup, not quite. I love neutrals; clean, fresh makeup looks do it for me. However most times, I don’t actually wear any makeup.
How I Accessorize
I love my sunglasses. I’ll typically wear Rayban aviators or clubmasters or vintage cat-eyed sunglasses. I also love hats, totes and clutches for bags. For shoes, courts and ankle strapped heels.
On a Regular Day
My regular day look will be a shift dress, maxi dress or a skirt and a cami most likely with flip-flops, sandals or converses.
Bag Life
I Own the Night
My night out look would be a black or white dress paired with a purse, heels and a sultry makeup look. I am currently in love with monochrome.
Shoes & Feet
Getting my ‘Working Class Girl’ On
My work look would be a smart midi dress, court shoes and a tote or a blazer and pants.
I Think Every Girl Should Have
I think every stylish girl should have killer court shoes, amazing totes, a lovely black dress and a pair of denim trousers.
My wardrobe staples are a basic white tee, black blazer, white blazer, crisp white shirt, a little black dress, black cami, loose grey tee, black pencil skirt, blue jeans, black jeans, white jeans and a crop top.
My Advice for Other Stylistas
My advice would be to find what works for you as an individual. Trends are nice on the odd occasion but personal style is what I feel really makes an outfit stand out. From colours to textures – find a perfect fit for you and go with it.
If I Could Steal a celebrity’s Wardrobe
Currently Micah Gianneli because her style is edgy and you’ll find her in neutrals – greys, white, black and nude. Her style is also very clean and minimal which is key for me as I do not like to have too many things going on.
Which Nigerian Celebrity Stole My Look
Honestly I can’t actually think of any Nigerian celebrity.
My Style Philosophy
My style philosophy is knowing who you are, what you want to say through your style, and not giving a damn.
