Winning! City FM Bags ‘Best Radio Station in Lagos’, ‘Fast Rising Radio Station of The Year’ & More Awards

Within the space of 3 weeks, City FM 105.1 has bagged 4 awards, thereby proving the saying that hard work always pays.

On Saturday 15th November 2014, the lifestyle station beat 26 other radio stations in the same category at the Nigeria Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA), to win the Best Radio Station in Lagos as recognition to service delivery and strong listenership.

Some of their On-Air personalities also got nominations as Nigeria Broadcaster of The Year (Male and Female category), Sexiest On-Air-Personality as well as the Outstanding Radio Program Presenters of The Year.

Meanwhile, barely a week after winning this award, City FM 105.1 was again recognized as the Fast Rising Radio Station of The Year, from the Nigeria Model Achievers’ Award (NMAA).

City FM Managing Director, Doja Allen, expressed her joy towards this success and also dedicated the award to the listeners and lovers of City FM. She said if listeners did not enjoy the various programs of the radio station, they would not have voted City FM as Best Radio Station, which means the management and members of staff are doing something right.

Also, according to the Chief Executive Officer of Mic Dunamis Global Concept, Don Mike Igbe, NMAA decided to celebrate the unusual creativity and good service delivery which City FM stands for.

The General Manager, Pekun Oloyede, also congratulated the staff for working hand in hand towards the success of the company noting that without staff co-operation the awards couldn’t have been achieved.

It has been a journey in consistency and never ending growth in the very competitive media industry and to re-position and serve their listeners better. The station relocated from Eleganza Building, Billings Way in Oregun area of Lagos to Plot 11 Lateef Jakande Road Agindingbi Ikeja Lagos.

Veteran broadcaster Dan Foster, also joined the winning team this year in addition to the other OAP’s and from the breakfast show to the late night show, City FM continues to offer unique content to its listeners.
