Lmaooooooo….the underwear thing is real tho…dated this girl a while back. Ignoring her clothes and shoe collection, she had an iPhone 5, a macbook and an iPad. She also had one of those badass Nikon DSLR cameras complete with lenses and all (she wasn’t a professional photographer oh…it was just to be cool) YET…na only one black kpata and one leopard print bra babe get. She’ll wear that pair whenever she came to mine for the weekend then Saturday and Sunday, she’ll be sailing….lol. If I ask, its either she was hurrying and forgot to pack them or they fell off her handbag on the train. When I’d go to hers, she’d say she was sailing because she knew I was on my way…lmao…I had to tell her one day on Skype to stop lying….I was like “baby…please change this ‘brassiere and paynt’ for me…do it for love”…rotflmao….It made a lot of things easy though…but it was damn funny to me that she could spend money on all those stuff, most of which she clearly didn’t need but couldn’t buy herself undies from even H&M if Victoria secret is too expensive….lol

Errrrmmmm belt, trainers, lingerie…hian. I don’t know what to say sha…
Meanwhile, why does the background look like a native doctor’s shrine in a Nollywood movie (at least it looked that way till she showed the rest of the room at the end)? I’m just being honest, that’s the first thing that came to my mind lol

And if you don’t want to know, then move on. People really should practice “if you don’t have anything good to say, then say nothing”

I doubt you follow up with her flogs.. This is the first time she makes mention of her personal expenditure, and her intentions are far from bragging. You have the right to jump into such conclusions and but it’s not necessary to state them publicly. She is also not a girl, she’s a woman and wife, give her the due respect she deserves.
      Have a nice day! lol

Going back to get popcorn and grab a sit, the comments on this attention whore should be scandalous :d

    • Benjy

      January 29, 2015 at 9:12 pm

Well at least this attention whore can afford to buy a £350 belt. While i can barely change my clothes. If i know that whoring for attention will improve my finances trust me i will do it. And you know you will too. So please lets stop hating on people.

Erm, attention whore is quite extreme @femi
Newaiz, Toke, I like you and I respect a woman who works hard…but why are you mentioning the amount you spent? I mean it does seem like you’re bragging a little bit and that’s never classy. The old money folks, you know, the daughters of people like Dangote, Otedola, Dantata and the likes probably have more money than you’ve ever seen before and you don’t hear them saying “I spent £350 on a belt and several pounds on shoes”, do you?
Anyway, na your money. Make you chop am, sha. Just saying, be a little modest about it.

    • Sheri

      January 29, 2015 at 7:57 pm

Fail. Don’t ever bring in someones ‘daughter/son’ if you want to make comparisons. Why can’t you make reference to someone who has made money for themselves and not because of who their parents are. It doesn’t make any sense. Retreat, turn around and try again.

    • concerned

      January 29, 2015 at 10:42 pm

Auntie Sherri, abeg I’m sorry oo. Biko, I shouldn’t have involved the children of rich people. You’re right, I’m sorry. All I was trying to say was that in my very modest and rather insignificant but still valid opinion, it is not classy to brag about prices. I sincerely hope that you understood that. I have retreated, I have turned around and I have tried again. God bless you.

      January 29, 2015 at 11:10 pm

Oh, BN. I have already replied this comment but I will do so one more time because I can’t see the original.
Aunty Sheri, I am extremely sorry. How could I? You are so right. I should never have refered to the children of rich people. That was wrong and I am terribly, deeply sorry. All I intended for you to understand was that in my very modest, sadly insignificant but still valid opinion, it is not classy to brag about the prices of the things you buy. Hopefully, you understood that. There; I have retreated, I have turned around and I have tried again. Good enough?

    • Sheri

      January 30, 2015 at 12:59 am

Nope. Try again, with less sarcasm. In fact, you had a second chance and failed once more with your poor attempt at satire. So this time around, retreat, and keep it moving…(Grade-F for folly & foolery)

£350 on a belt? Alright toke. £1000 on a shoe? We’re sorry oh. But toke why is your accent is more mixed than Wentworth Miller? On a lighter note, I like that you’re speaking from experience in this vlog…

And the moral of the story is… Toke spent 350 on a belt.

    January 29, 2015 at 8:29 pm

That’s true people tend to spend more on what they don’t need, what others can see. But that’s a lot of money for a belt, anyways, its her money she’s working hard for it so she gets to do with it as she pleases.

£100 for running shoes? What happened to brands like New Balance or Nike?

    • Person

      January 30, 2015 at 1:39 am

But why are people hating on the truth? Isn’t she right?! It is so fashionable to hate on Toke… I no longer get the Toke hate.

Anyway, I struggle with this daily so I KNOW where she is coming from. Learning to do better!

      January 30, 2015 at 1:41 am

She said Nike. This one is USD190.

    • Chiemeka Ugo

      January 30, 2015 at 12:07 pm

Huh don’t tell me you just asked that silly question? My dear for your information the 100 pounds running shoe she is talking about is Nike. It’s even more than 100 pounds self. So that come here n act like u know what you are saying while in retrospect you are bush and unexposed person. In the UK a Nike trainers goes for 170 pounds below. You can even hardly see a cheap Nike pair. so next time don’t disgrace urself and dish out a question for something you absolutely know nothing about. Try and Enlighten urself if you have not travelled outside the country before and when I say travel I don’t mean to Ghana or addis abba.

    • Cheeky

      January 31, 2015 at 10:17 am

Hey! Calm down, there are still some for below £100. I guess ppl are difft. If someone decide to spend £100 their business and if another person says they believe you can find “Nike” for below that price, super they are scrimpers so free them. Travelling abroad or not doesn’t mean they are silly. At least in this day and age Internet is rampant thanks though globalisation, ppl r aware of their surroundings more.

      January 30, 2015 at 12:11 pm

£100 for Nike running shoes sounds about accurate.

    January 29, 2015 at 10:35 pm

Come on you guys! why are you fixating on the 350 pound belt?!!!! She was illustrating a point, one that most people can relate to if we’re being honest regarding our spending habits, I most certainly can!

Dont worry when the kids start rolling in and your priorities change you wont even think of bargaining

  21. Tina T

    January 29, 2015 at 11:04 pm

I know someone who really isn’t earning much (works as a secretary) only for them to want to buy a bugaboo pushchair (£1500) because ‘they’ were expecting a baby. Finally settled for a Mothercare one that was down to £500 from £1000 and ‘they’ called it a bargain!!!! Smh. They can’t afford £350 rent. True life story because I know them too well. What happened to other travel system that costs £250? This same girl bought one single chair for £1500. Misplaced priorities.

It amazes me that the genuinely rich ones never talk about money. Oprah, Bill Gates, Beyonce ……I have never heard them talk about how much they spend on things. Toke please take 10 steps to the left. #justsaying

I must admit Toke brought home some solid points. In the same vain, I hope you are not renting an apartment or a home, and have a property or two to boast of as your own investment, or a business innovation in the works to be able to treat yourself to those luxurious lifestyle. Anyone who puts value in “shallow things” more than in “great investment” will fade away quickly. One must strive to leave a legacy for ones children, and not in things that are trending today and tomorrow, no longer the trend or in vogue.

The wealthiest are ALWAYS looking for what next to do to increase their wealth. Not focusing on the shallow stuff. A wise man leaves an inheritance, not shoes, belts, and bags. We must also have a clear distinction on what we want and our needs. I hope our “wants” today won’t leave us empty in the future. Not against enjoying life, but putting stuff that don’t matter NOW over stuff that do matter NOW. FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION!

Nice point Toke but tehre was no need to mention the price tag. 350 pounds for a belt…i dey craze? Only Nigerians who live in Nigeria will come abroad and be spending absurd money on clothes. What happened to outlet malls and discount stores?

  31. Demilade

    January 30, 2015 at 5:53 pm

Why not focus on what she’s actually trying to say and not on how much she spent. It was probably just an illustration. She’s very right actually. xx

lol Madam its really not that deep, leave her alone and go and teach figure of speech at a local school. she apologised sarcastiscally and you deserve it, because the Retreat surrender crap was unnecessary. too much ado over nothing.

hmmn! it all depends on what you hold dear.. i have a friend that spends soo much money on clothes and shoes yet her make up purse is filled with N150 multicolor eyeshadow and N100 lip gloss and she enjoys using beva relaxer claiming that kits are just too expensive. guys seem to flock round her tho, so i guess her strategy is working just fine.
