Illbliss, Olamide, Yvonne Ekwere, Wizkid, Iyanya & More Join their Voices to #PrayForNigeria

CaptureThere has been a movement on social media today as Nigerians and Africans joined their voices to raise awareness about the killing of 2000 civilians in Baga, Borno State.

Take a look at their words and messages below:

Illbliss: SAD…. May God punish the people masterminding all this mayhem and disaster .. May their families be burnt beyond recognition. MAY they wallow in pain and may the wrath of our LORD deal with them decisively….

Reekado Banks: Pls say a prayer for my motherland

Korede Bello: #GodBlessNigeria #GodBlessAfrica

Olamide: I pray for peace and blessings, ya Allah have mercy on the innocent souls

Toke Makinwa: Just when we are still reeling from the news of 2,000 people massacred in Baga, 2 female suicide bombers blow themselves up at the GSM market killing 4 people and injuring many others in Yobe state. I don’t recognise Nigeria anymore, this is not my country, these are not my people, when and how did we get here??? In Rivers state there is violence, APC building burnt down , on the other hand somewhere else a PDP bus is burnt too. The election process is not a do or die is it???? So why the violence? Of what difference does it make to terrorism Vandalism should never be accepted.people are hurt in the process. Who are these people??? Should the elections be postponed? Will February be safe? Why is there a March with world leaders and religious leaders in Paris and here NOTHING! Of what value is a human life in Nigeria? At this rate is there a future for our unborn kids in Nigeria? No light, Bad roads, Bad leaders, Killings everywhere, Corruption….. Father have mercy on us today

Yvonne Ekwere: We are all of the HUMAN RACE… We all laugh, cry, eat, sh#t, breathe,… we have so much in common as human beings why kill your kind in the name of religion. what sense does that make??? what has come over the world? since when did it become ok to take the lives of innocent people? why should journalists be killed for expressing themselves? why are young school girls taken hostage just because they went to school? how is it normal to strap bombs to a 10 year old girl child to kill herself and others? what did she/they do to diserve this???? if the practice of “religion” requires one to murder others is it really RELIGIOUS? What about CONSCIENCE? and COMPASSION??? i’m shocked, tired, angry and confused. i am a CITIZEN of this WORLD, it is my right to practice whatever religion i choosei, live the way i want and not be worried about losing my life because of my choices… WTF are you to oppose that? You are NOT GOD and by the way, i hear from Him myself, you cant shove you radical sentiments down my throat. all i ask is that we JUST STAY IN PEACE. #RIPtoEveryLifeLost #LOVEisMyRELIGION#StayInPeace #peace #Nigeria #France #Unity#BringBackOurGirls #BringBackOurCountry#CharlieHebdo #BridgeTheGap #WeAreTheWorld#CitizenOfTheWorld #enoughisenough#worldpeace #Unity #WeAllShouldTryToGetAlong#ItsNotThatDifficult#WeDontHaveToLikeEachotherButLetsBeCivil#OnlyLightCanFightDarkness #MBOK #Vixen#VonneVixen #pray

Peace Hyde: There is evidence EVERYDAY to prove that this world is unequal! 12 dead in Paris results in PRAYERS & PROTEST… Thousands dead in Nigeria results in SILENCE. It doesn’t matter where you live or your race or color… EVERY life MATTERS. Let’s show the next generation that when ONE person hurts…WE ALL HURT!… #PrayForNigeria #PrayForParis #PrayFortheWorld #Peace #humanity #love #respect#appreciate #life #photooftheday #oneworld #pray #God#Godhavemercyonus

Udoka Oyeka: Is there any solution for this issue facing Northern Nigeria?????? #2000dead #BokoHaramMustGo #ThisIsSickening#BringBackOurGirls #NoWords

SMH. when has prayer ever solved any problem in the world.

prayer can never solve any problem. we have been praying for nigeria ever since I was a little. for those of u catholics, every sunday we recited, PRAYER FOR NIGERIA IN DISTRESS.

we are tired of praying. we need to stand up and start holding politicians responsible. we need to put some politicians in prison then they will know we nigerian citizens are not here to play.

if u keep praying we would not accomplish anything.

The rate at which your spirit, soul, brain and everything in you has been manipulated and polluted by the enemy is actually very scary, may God Almighty deliver you.. And yes prayer works, try it

can you tell me who the enemy is?

is the enemy not religion. all religion does is promote hatred, racism ,sexism ,homophobia and ignorance. etc.

the most wicked people I have ever met in my entire life are born again christains. the people who are stealing nigeria’s money are they not religious. boko haram and isis are they not religion motivated.

u can insult me but pls after insulting me state ur point of view. religion has damaged society and held back development.

can u mention one time prayer has solved a problem. NEVER. the human rights movement in america, black people didn’t sit down to pray, they stood up and matched and protested.

so if u like keep sitting down and keep praying. I will not reply any ignorant comment again.

The enemy makes people like you do nothing. African Americans got their freedom with prayer and action, not just prayer. First you pray, then you hit the streets with God’s favour. You can’t just hide in your room and pray the heavenly hosts will fight for you.

Those pictures about the burnt bodies … are not originally from Nigeria… they were stolen.. from the massacre that happened in the Congo ( DRC) capital Kinshasa.. during an oil explosion.. Why would the author of this piece took it and said it was in Nigeria?? WHY PEOPLE LIE?? if this person is a journalist then you are a liar… report the truth but not lie… you are not fooling people but yourself.. Rubbish

This is dispecable. Do you still think Nigeria has a government? All Nigerian’s should come out to protest against this barbaric act. Well, where are the members of the Nigerian military when all these atrocities were committed?. Vote out the Jonathan Ebele BADLUCK government already.

Nigerians your prayer has now been answered. #Showusyourmanifesto. The power is in your hands, vote based on documented policies in their manifesto. Please disregard tribe, religion, age, height, money. For once lets make this politicians accountable, they need you now so ask them what are your plans for me. I just want to vote for someone who says “let there be light and there was light”.

I am of the notion that only prayer will not solve this nation problems if truly this is a SINCERE campaign for development of this nation and not a shabby type. We need to work smart and right at it. In fulfilling that, we need to be organized and that’s why we need a leader to lead every affairs to it followers destination. A leader that is vested with huge responsibilities. A leader that will compel me and you to march on for growth and development. But where we have low quality leaders that is uncharismatic, unpatriotic, corruption and other wrong doings. There is bound to be problem. We as followers who suppose to influence bad leadership policies, are divided and have bad leaders even representing us e.g subsidy saga. We have to sacrifice to make sure credible leaders are appointed to lead us. It start with me and you.

@Bruno: Religion is beautiful thing, and in fact, the best guidance or rules for mankind ONLY if it can be follow strictly and apply some of it tips or lessons to our governance. Most of the religious house goers are not following the teachings and at times, it is a shame and denigrate to repute of the religious leaders because these leaders keep coming back to the house for more religious lessons that don’t have positive impact. Truly, that’s the height of insincerity and evil.
Watching WW2 historical documentaries shows those with good intention and righteousness triumph no matter state of the atmosphere.

Yapping on Social Media wont solve nothing. We need action.

    January 12, 2015 at 10:49 pm

It is a good thing known names are talking about what’s going on in Nigeria but I need us as Nigerians to stop staying behind prayers. Prayers do work, I know that but we can’t always stay behind religion and prayers without doing anything ourselves. Most Nigerians in Nigeria truly love doing anything that doesn’t take them outside their comfort zones which is one of the many reasons why we would rather pray our problems away. You are not voting but you’re waiting for prayers to yield results. It’s about time we separated religion and government. Pray if you so please but go out and vote too, stop letting these politicians bribe you sacks of rice.

It took Nigerians how many days to acknowledge the injustice. I was cyberstalking all the so called personalities, OAP’s, celebrities and the likes to say something on Instagram. As at yesterday I didn’t see majority of them post anything but as soon as other non nigerian people raise up to say something, they all jump on the bandwagon. SHAME on all who have a huge following and an audience on social media but did nothing. Create awareness for things that matter and not the material possessions you acquire.

Nigeria! My Nigeria! A country approved by God but disorganized by politicians in the name of civilized politics. My personal question is: Who is fooling who?. It’s a big shame that Boko Haram is holding our blessed country Nigeria “the giant of Africa“ in captive and our Government can’t handle it, of course also with the complete awareness of the western colonial masters. It’s a wicked World because the abnormal things are now normal in the name of civilized sins.
