Black Beauty! Lupita Nyong’o is Gorgeous in Paris Match Magazine

LupitaWhen Lupita Nyong’o was announced as the new face of beauty brand Lancôme we were certain she was going to continuously give us flawless looks.

The Hollywood actress was recently featured in a Paris magazine, photographed by Alexi Lubomirski, wearing a sea of red – with her face glammed up by Lancôme.

Lupita Nyong'o

The magazine wrote:

#LupitaNyongO, Black sun #Hollywood. In the streets of #NewYork she cannot take a step without people asking for her autograph. In one year, the Oscar winner for “12 Years a Slave,” which was her first role, has become more than a star into a real phenomenon. Here on the 36th floor, in front of the huge window of a penthouse at the InterContinental, #Lupita dominates #TimesSquare. Stoic, she keeps smiling despite the vertigo.

      Reading is fundamental sweety! If you took the time to do so you would have realized that this is a photo shoot for a magazine, which will mean she is getting paid and it’s part of her brand. She didn’t just decide to take and release random photos of herself. That said, she looks phenomenal.

      She doing way better than u. U don’t know her personally or what is has been working on. What ever she chose to do is none of your business. You do not add or deduct anything from her life.

      So you are expecting a new movie from her month? Lol……typical Nollywood fan.

      March 11, 2015 at 8:16 am

      Please take note that proper movies often are a few years in the making. This is not your nollywood where someone can make four movies a year, all of them nondescript.

    lovely picture. but you all know shes only this popular because shes dark skinned… very dark for that matter. her acting skills arent all that.shes good. yes! but i still dont think she deserved that oscar. chiwetel played a better role than she did in that movie…

    anyways onto other things i loved how this weeks episode of scandal brought into light the fact that in some cases where black boys are shot down by police officers the victims do play a role in their death as they choose not to show the police officers and the badge some respect. i am not saying the police officers are right for shooting these victims but as individuals we should be able to show some level of respect to law enforcement agents when being questioned. afterall these police officers are here to protect us and im sure 7 out of 10 times they question someone who looks suspicious they are right so looking at things from their perspective if u are innocent why dont u explain yourself in a calm manner that wouldnt lead to any misunderstanding.

      March 10, 2015 at 5:03 pm

      My dear, those were my exact tots too on Lupita, She’s only popular cos of her dark skin and probably cos she was flogged in 12yrs a slave, She didnt deserve to win an oscar but i guess it was just her time.Uzo Aduba actually deserves an oscar in my own opinion.

    • bruno

      March 10, 2015 at 6:30 pm

      uzo aduba is a tv actress and she has won an emmy award.

      tv series= emmy award
      movies=oscar award
      music=grammy award
      stage=tony award.

      get ur facts right before you talk shit.

      and lupita deserved her oscar,I havent forgiven jennifer Lawrence for stealing lupita’s golden globe assuming she stole the oscar from lupita all hell would have been let loose.

      lupita was lucky. she was a graduate of yale school of drama, people took pity on her character patsy in 12 years a slave, she was naked in 12 years a slave her first movie, lupita in person is beautiful and well spoken, all these things contributed into winning an oscar.

      March 10, 2015 at 5:50 pm

      Hahahahaha it is really allowed. Ah ah, have u guys eaten today atol? Ope u know there are other dark skinned actors that never got this opportunity. When u’re blessed, u’re blessed. Simple! U both should try feeding your stomach as well as your soul to give you more clarity of mind maybe only then will you understand how blessings happen.

      March 10, 2015 at 9:58 pm

      EVERYTHING you said here is pure trash, but you have the damn NERVE.
      Its funny, before it was “its because she is light skinned” now the tune has changed. As bruno rightly stated lupita does not only have the natural acting skill but also the degree to further show her capabilities. It’s really sad that some african’s still have the only one can win attitude, you don’t have to take away from lupita’s abilities to give chiwetelu his praise. The people who matter(the academy) have deemed it fit to give lupita an oscar in her breakout role so you’re opinion is useless anyway.
      Now about scandal, did you watch the episode to the end? because we definitely didn’t watch the same episode. I have not been in America for 2 years but i have seen the disgusting bias of the police in this country towards minorities, but for you to even try to justify the killing of a teenager for your own sake i hope you don’t end up in the same fate because karma works in funny ways. It’s annoying when you’re leaving walmart and you’re the only one who is asked for you receipt because of your skin color and that would probably be the reason the boy spoke to the police guy rudely if intact he did because we clearly didn’t watch the exchange. Its actually funny that you already believed the words of the police guy, man i can’t even deal.

      March 11, 2015 at 10:05 am

      …….. the episode of scandal is true, this mentality of why am i being questioned by a law enforcement officer cause i’m black is what gets alot of black people into trouble. you cant go around questioning a police officer or any law enforcement officer just cause he asked you a question. RESPECT is always important but apparently we black people don’t think it is cause of the way the law enforcement officers in our countries are. RESPECT The badge and trust me there would be little or no misunderstanding and also little of this crappy RACIST balderdash!

      So you think Chiwetel should have won the Best Supporting ACTRESS award instead? Lupita was chosen over the other ladies in that category and she totally deserved that award so please wipe your lens cos your current view appears to be really blurred.

    I love this woman. She has been in two films: 12 Years a Slave and Non-Stop. She was also in Shuga, the Kenya series.

    Seriously, Bad Belle is allowed. When all we saw were Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Amber Rose (love her too), and the rest of the clearly white/light-ski Ned folks Una no talk. Na for this little piece wey we get Una wan talk, continue.

    I love red and I love Lupita and baby girl has the degree and experience to back it all up. Go ahead and slay my dear.

    She’s a Yale University Graduate.
    She’s an embodiment of beauty and Confidence.
    Africans can be their own worst enemies.
    She’s the face of many magazines, while Mexicans and other Spanish speaking people hold her at very hard regards (being born in Mexico), Some of you are questioning what she’s doing.
    NOTE- it’s more like someone asking you, if you even have a life or a job since most are you are “regulars” on BN. Before spitting out words
    CHEW it first

      Thank you for detailing Lupita’s achievements. Most people see the medal but never understand the journey. They think Usain Bolt wakes up one morning and runs for his life. The guy trains DAILY.
      Lupita is an extremely intelligent and gifted young lady. As someone says in a different comment, she was born in Mexico and speaks fluent Spanish too. The politics of Africa would not have allowed her to thrive. After Sugar she could hardly get any roles in Kenya (you know the whole Afro nonsense of her tribe, her color – too dark – her father’s profile etc). She moves away from it all and blossoms then Africa quickly claims her.
      In addition to being an actress, she is a producer and one of her movies on Albinism is here
      So long before you knew her..she had made the journey and still at it.
      Yale School is her second or third degree – the father is a renowned scholar. It’s in her genes.

    Why do I get the feeling that Africans dont like Lupita cos she has managed to find success and love in Hollywood although she is the kind of beauty that wont be appreciated here
    Lupita is adored because she is an intelligent, beautiful and sophisticated black girl
    Do you think you can just get up and go to Yale School of Drama?
    That’s the school that the Meryl Streeps of this world went to, admissions is insanely competitive
    Lupita won that Oscar because she conveyed the raw helplessness of a 16 year old slave girl called Patsy, and cos she outperformed her colleagues in the category she was in
    And to the person saying Chiwetel should have won instead, was he competing for Best Supporting Actress? smh
    12 years a slave came out in 2013, and her movie Non Stop in 2014
    She has a couple of movies lined for 2015 and 2016, big budget movies like Star Wars that dont just materialize overnight like Nollywood movies
    So please lets support our own people and stop all this useless hating
    we dont like our own things and yet we want white people to love us
    She’s dark skinned and killing it deal with it

    To all those saying Lupita is only popular because she is dark skinned, it just makes me wonder why Africans are like these?! Enough of putting others down. The girl is doing well, be happy for her or keep it moving if it’s so hard for you to accept her success. Jeez.
