WHO IS THIS ONE WHO WRAPPED PURPLE HANDKERCHIEF ROUND HER BODY TO GO AND GREET THE PRESIDENT ? What kind of tacky, sickly-coloured , badly sewn weave is that???? Worst of all, WHO EVEN LET HER IN????Those protocol peeps should be fired abeg!
Shame to the upbringing of some people; If u were not taught to respect yourself, at least show some respect to one of the highest authorities of your OWN country. This is not your showbiz world where carrying yourself inappropriately gives u the highest ratings. Draw the line.!!!
Beyoncé has access to the White House. She hangs with Michelle Obama and Kate Middleton. Forget about her skimpy clothes when she performs, u will NEVER catch her like this when she’s invited to official ceremonies or when she’s with these ladies. See how she looked like when William and Kate came to New York.

What is Seyi Shay wearing tho? That’s an inappropriate dress to wear at a meeting with the president no matter how informal or casual the event is.

      March 3, 2015 at 11:19 am

same thing i thought, her outfit is highly inappropriate, show some respect and have some dignity.. omoni oboli’s blue dress wasn’t even half as bad as this one and still people complained.

Hello all! I attended the event and I believe Seyi Shays dressing may be taken a bit out of context. She performed at the rally that held immediately after the Q&A session and asked if she can take a Selfie with the president, she came down the stage still in her performance outfit. . Which, well… it’s not surprising that is p…pretty much a tube peplum top and short.

Wat in God’s name is Seyi shay wearing? This is not about modesty but common sense which she’s obviously lacking. There’s a place and time for everything. To say dat she looks trashy is an understatement, be looking like #1000 per hour

    • Zara

      March 3, 2015 at 12:43 pm

#1000 per hour!!!!I think that is too much…….. Hahahahaha!!!!!!

Asin!!! Seyi shey really needs to get it together. Why is she just all over the place these days? If it’s not throwing shade, she’s wearing things that are inappropriate. I mean the combo she has on is nice just not for this type of event.

Her management are flushing her career down the toilet because this girl has HUGE TALENT and potential.

Biko Biko someone who knows what they are doing should step in before her career takes a complete nose dive

Excuse you but please even if you disagree with the President, there is nothing wrong with meeting him. It’s not even a meet and greet. It’s an interactive session where people ask the President questions on things that matter to him. If Buhari had this you would applaud him abi? But somehow people don’t have the right to meet their President and ask him questions? Ridiculous!!

    • prince

      March 3, 2015 at 5:22 pm

why u no dey the interactive session OLODO. a place where you’re given the questions to ask and you can’t ask what you were not given. bulls-t! bulls-t and bulls-t!!!.
and for all the celebs here. I seize to respect any of you again bcos this shows you’re only after money and not the well being of those that made you who you are. crazy folks

    • wale

      March 4, 2015 at 1:22 am

It’s supposed to be an interactive session but I can see that politicians turned it into another campaign or what are the likes of Mimiko, Obanikoro, Peter Obi etc doing on stage. Even Toyin Aimaku was swearing by all her ancestors that she will vote PDP. This was far from being a mere interactive session if you ask me

Look at it this way. The entertainment industry in Nigeria is bourgeoning and jobs are being created. It is bringing multiple tribes together and they are making a name for themselves internationally. It is diversifying the economy (now you can tell yourummy you want to act lol) and the president has made funds available for this. Why will they not support him? It isnt just about bribes all the time. Sometimes it is about a vested interest you can identify with. If a politician developed your constituency would you not support him? You do not have to vote for GEJ but they probably will and you have to be okay with that. It is the same way GEJ supporters may never understand how people will vote for an elderly and former dictator who was part of a group that took away fundamental human rights among other things – the effect of which we still suffer from today. All you can do is respect their choice as a feature of democracy.

    • Nigerian-American

      March 4, 2015 at 12:28 am

We are now having interactive sessions with the political heavy weights in Nigeria. If you ask me, I will say, we are evolving! This is a good thing folks! I’m glad to see that we emulating some of the good practices that we see in other civilized clime. I think we ought to celebrate this development, rather criticize it as being contrived. Now think back four years ago, did we have this opportunity? No! Now, the next four years, we will mature even more people. So put your cynicism on hold for a while and join in the movement of “asking not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country!!!!!

The president looked so scared to come close and be infected by a ratchet…

    • South London babe

      March 3, 2015 at 5:10 pm

Funny … There are plenty of very expensive houses in the locations you just mentioned! More expensive than a lot of the houses in NW London! Nigerian people chat so much crap sometimes not everybody living in SE London is suffering! Some of you come on holiday a few times visit Peckham and kewisham and all of a sudden you become an expert! My dear shut up!

    March 3, 2015 at 10:48 am

Isn’t it when a president gives a respectable vibe that you feel the need to honor him with a nice look?the man is not respectable now so … Imagine any entertainer dressing disrespectfully before Obama. First see the people the obamas identify with?the Carters , the smiths etc… If Jonathan had any brain he’ll identify with people like The Ekeinde’s , akandes, psquare, etc… Respectable solid brands but see his level …big hiss

am a little bit confused? 5000youths? what was the criterion in picking this youths? So everyone in the entertainment industry can now speak for Nigerian youth? o ga oh. Its sad and such as shame we the real YOUTH of nigeria arent asking and doing the right thing. so far all the comments have been about seyi shay’s dress. what issues were discussed? Where are the youths that represented the financial industry? telecommunications? Agric? Information technology?

They were there, if you attended you would know. He was asked questions.
Honestly BN you didn’t do justice to this event. The least you could do is put up some clips of the questions the President was asked and the answers he had for them.
Now people think it was just a fashion show!

I watched it at home with my parents. It was a nice event. Timi Dakolo’s performance was moving. The Yoruba presenter was quite funny. Gbemi OO was cool. Jimi Agbaje’s speech, and the other really blunt guy whose name I don’t remember, helped me see how far Nigeria has come. It’s cool to have all this dialogue (seeing both parties and how the youths interact with the political leaders and aspirants), I now see what Americans have been enjoying.

SEyi dear, there is such a thing as looking hot for all occasions, but babe c’mon. First rule of showing skin, choose which one yu want to show, is it ur legs or ur shoulders. IT CANT BE BOTH for this type of event. yu have a great bod, but yu need to take urself seriously. sense must be applied, I can bet yu know yu made a wrong decision as soon as yu stepped into d building. Still luv ur music tho

    Seyi Shay, Maka Why?!!!

Her ‘Defensive’ thoughts may be: ‘ Well that’s the way ‘it’ is done ‘where’ I’m from.”
Well, Beyonce, Amber Rose, … And many more international celebrities that show off their body assets, don’t dress to ‘meet the president’ like this – wether outdoor, indoor, or… Any presidential program.
They can’t even wear this to the white house.
    **I stand to be corrected**

Good for you though. No publicity is bad publicity. Keep living some ‘rentfree’ space in peoples’ minds and thoughts….and free publicity from bloggers…lol

Let’s learn to adopt appropriate ‘fashion’ from foreigner, where applicable.

Seyi Shay’s outfit was ill advised. Love Gbemi OO’s denim jumpsuit.

@teeteepretty Toyosi Akerele was there because she is a prominent Nigerian youth doing the country proud on a global front. If persons like her cannot attend such an event with the President., who qualifies, pray tell?

To be fair, I heard youths were well represented and asked the President some tough questions.

Why should people supporting the President tar them as selling their birthright? Can you honestly say you don’t believe there are people who believe in and support the President wholeheartedly without receiving direct/indirect incentives for such support?

I support APC by the way and will be voting GMB in the Presidential elections but I can be objective about these things.

  36. jefka

    March 3, 2015 at 3:38 pm

@sandi, we appreciate the event for all that it stood for,
but right now, the picture in our face is taking our attention away from it.
seyi shay, who tbh dont listen to her music becuz i am tired of almost all female musicians singing of luv and how man dey tor tori one of dia body part is supposed to be representing the youths was busy advertising her goods beside the number 1 man in the country and all he could do was smile sheepishly and fold his legs tight.
when rihanna went to the white house did u see her attire? yet that is a lady who we see nude almost always, but then again, some1 here commented that the president doesnt deserve respect bcz he has none for hmself.
so pls stop saying we r not making sensible comments.
i also agree with u that BN didnt really represent it for what it was but this is entertainment and gossip/shades/compromise sells.
