PDP Calls for Cancellation of Election Results in Kano

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kano State chapter, has called for the cancellation of results of Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

This is contained in a petition signed by the party’s Secretary, Alhaji Auwalu Danzabuwa, and made available to newsmen in Kano on Monday.

“The PDP hereby protests the way, manner and procedure adopted by your commission in the conduct of the above exercise. The party hereby demands the cancellation of the election in its totality in Kano State,” stated that the petition.

The party said that the number of votes in many of the polling units exceeded the number of accredited voters as captured in the card reader and manual accreditation.

“We hereby put forward the following as examples, Gurjiya Cikin Gari Polling Unit (006), Dagumawa Cikin Gari Polling Unit (007) and Dagumawa Bayan Sakateriya (004).’’

The petition also alleged that many voters were deliberately denied the right to vote by APC supporters.

It alleged that the commission in some areas did not provide adequate number of ballot papers needed at the polling units and other voting materials at Dawakin Tofa Local Government.

According to the petition, Dawakin Tofa and Rimin Gado local governments received 40,000 and 15, 000 ballot papers respectively.

It said that the figure was short of the number needed to conduct free and fair election in the areas.

“In addition, a car Renault model belonging to one Alhaji Bilya of Bachirawa Quarters was loaded with APC thumb-printed ballot papers; the case was reported to Bachirawa Police Division. Violent conduct by APC members chased out eligible voters from polling units and stuffing of ballot papers, thump printed by APC agents while INEC officials were made to endorse some under duress,” the petition alleged.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in May 1976 to gather and distribute news on Nigeria and cover events of interest to Nigeria at the international level for the benefit of the Nigerian Media and the Public.

Yes dear, we re using the same standards, what of the results in enugu with that wide margin and no cancelled or void votes? What of rivers state, they re planning on announcing over a million votes for PDP meanwhile there re protests going on there that the people were not allowed to vote, so where the the over a million voters emerge from? PDP has said any result other than victory for their candidate would not be accepted, imagine! You can check the newspapers, its all there

Mr President sir, listen to the whistle of the hunter and ignore the cheers of the sycophants, political miscreants and never do wells who got you into this mess in the first instance. Its ironical that an incumbent administration is shouting wolf at election results, Anyway, we are watching the drama unfold just like the Ivorians.
