Some PDP members in Ekiti State on Monday reportedly blocked the two major roads leading to the  state House of Assembly entrance over reports that 19 APC members were planning to hold a meeting to discuss the impeachment of Governor Ayo Fayose.

According to Punch, “the party loyalists were led by the Deputy Governor,  Kolapo Olusola; a former Speaker, Tunji Odeyemi; the Special Assistant to the governor on Information, Lanre Ogunsuyi, and Fayose’s Public Communications and New Media aide, Lere Olayinka.”

Policemen and Department of State Services (DSS) personnel were reportedly in total of nine Toyota Hilux trucks, guarding the main entrances to the assembly. In addition, PDP members erected canopies about 200 metres from the assembly entrance.  Some of the individuals were seen dancing under the canopies, while others sat quietly.
