Fulani Gunmen Kill 30 in Nasarawa & Benue
Gunmen said to be Fulani, attacked and killed 30 people – mostly women and children – in Benue and Nasarawa states.
Punch reports that the assailants invaded Guma, Kwande, Buruku and Keana Local Government Areas of Benue and Nasarawa states.
In addition to the individuals that died, several others were injured.
An eyewitness told newsmen that “the gunmen stormed the communities while they were resting after the day’s work and started shooting sporadically at innocent and defenseless people of the area.”
Commissioner of Police, Hyacinth Dagala, confirmed the attack and stated that surveillance and security around the affected areas have been intensified.
