God i know you haven’t forgotten them. You have thwarted the devices of the crafty, you can do it again. God please bring them home. Cleanse their wounds and rebuild their trust in you.

Looks like this is one failure in GEJ presidency that will dwarf whatever achievement he could have recorded, just as the thread of incompetence, corruption and complacency, that defined it. His failure on Chibok girls was not so much because he couldn’t rescue them but rather because he never really showed that he cared to do that when it mattered most. As the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, he slept on the nation when she needed him most. Perhaps between now and May 29, he can still redeem himslef; but whatever he does on the issue that agrees with Nigerian people can only help assuage, in a very small way I must add, the fast approaching and extremely harsh judgement that posterity may visit on him post-May 29!!.

@BB.. I couldn’t agree more on the Chibok girls issue but the story of the boy who cries wolf, always come to my mind whenever I think of that incident.
Could the president have taken it lightly because of the endemic violence in the North?
Ask Obasanjo how many unknown graves he dug during his tenure.
On the issue of corruption and incompetency, I will simply employ you to go back to our history and judge him same way you judged past presidents, governors, Congress men, local government chairmen and other elected officials.
Could he do better? Definitely yes.
Please judge him accordingly. Do not make him an escape goat.

I cannot even begin to imagine that you could make an excuse for GEJ on his inaction on these girls!! Endemic violence ke! Girls were reported kidnapped by a terrorist group and you are referring to “endemic”. That word does not even come anywhere near describing BH’s activities. Do not let me even get started on his wife’s stoooopid actions.

I loved GEJ at one time, but this Chibok stuff was it for me and him.

I feel so bad for Jonathan..I really can’t tell why it took him so long to respond to this issue and now it is a year gone..All his achievements in the development sector be it Agriculture,Road Construction,Rail way construction,Health sector and even Education will go in vain cause national security is the main issue..God should please be in control..It took a good number of years for the Americans to capture Bin Laden, not comparing Nigeria to USA,I think this issue of the Chibok girls is more than Jonathan to handle. I really feel so bad and keep asking why boko haram had to do this kind of a thing to innocent girls???

Taipan, do you have a heart? do you have sisters or daughters?
Its a year today, since those innocent girls have gone.
Have you bothered to think what the girls or their parents have been going through?
Oops!!! sorry i have forgotten you dont have a heart.
And as for your comment on Oby, if she gets an appointment in Buhari”s administration, she sure deserves it; Chibok girls or not.
May God take charge of your soul!!!

@ Redlady, my darling, it is not abt the innocent girls, there is something deep abt this situation we all don’t know, this issue was one of the huge propaganda used to unstable the Gej administration, what if they didn’t actually kidnap these girls or what if they were kept somewhere till after May 29th….don’t get me wrong, i feel for them, that is “if its really true they were missing”

Even the president you are trying to defend has finally agreed that they were kidnapped. it is people like you surrounding him, that made him not act on time. they told him it was a propaganda and he believed it. they told him to ignore because his political enemies just want to distabilze his government and sadly, he listened to them. now you and some people like you still continue saying thing like this. it is people like you who twist history, you will tell your children your own version of the story and they will believe you. you will tell them the preident was a good man and the kidnap was feigned. how will a mother feel if they read your comment while dealing with this terrible pain. are you aware some parents actually died from the heartbreak of this thing you said was just acting. will CNN risk the lives of their reporters to maiduguri to film a lie? will the military just lie that they rescued people that were not kidnapped in the first place. it is your kind of talk that an ignorant commander in chief listened to and that is why they couldn’t be rescued. for me, Now sane people like Oby are painted blck, all they did was to put the chibok issue in our consciousness or else like every other terrible thing that has happened in this government, they would have been swept under the rug.
I DON’T BELIEVE THOSE GIRLS CAN BE FOUND ANY LONGER. FROM THE NATURE OF BOKO HARAM, THEY CANNOT KEEP THEM IN ONE PLACE FOR LONG. THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN DISTRIBUTED AS WIVES TO SOME OF THE SOLDIERS, SOME WOULD HAVE DIED OF SEPTIC ABORTION, SOME WOULD HAVE ESCAPED AND GONE BACK HOME, SOME WOULD HAVE DIED AT CHILDBIRTH, SOME WOULD BE SICK AFTER BEING RAPED OVER AND OVER MANY TIMES A DAY. i WAS A PART OF THIS MOVEMENT BUT WITH WHAT WE ARE FACING, IT ISN’T REALLY FEASIBLE TO FIND THEM. THE GROUP DOESN’T WANT MONEY AND THEY CANNOT BE REASONED WITH SO….IT IS SAD TO TYPE THIS BUT THAT IS REALLY HOW IT IS. ATIONS ON THIS SORT OF THING IS USUALLY TAKEN WITH 48HRS, TOO BAD OUR C-IN-C WAS WAITING FOR A COMMITTEE REPORT TO VERIFY AND THIS WAS DELIVERED ABOUT 2 MONTHS LATER, BY THEN THEY WERE LONG GONE.
